Saw it on Dirt Trax Television and the guys loved the heck out of it. 80 Horse power, all new design from the in line crank and drive line right up to the new front suspension A arms. Thats a big step for a manufacturer that pioneered the Srut suspension. They said the only part that was the same as last years modle was the 4X4 switch.
Its a nice quad and has tons of power, youd never be dissapointed in that foresure.
Too heavy for me. 850 cc is also too much for me but to each his own.
Very fast ,very heavy and i have heard of some belt issues .Quite an improvement over the 08 800 . Time will tell ,the Canam 800 is proven, thought of that ?
the early reviews have been good... it will be a great workhorse thats for sure. the poos have always been known for a good trail joyrider with its comfy ride. also it sounds more like a vtwin so it doesnt sound like a week wacker rolling down the trail
still a downer is its weight... you wont be seeing it "hovering" over the skeg anytime soon
i seen in a race between the xp and a 800H.O outtie (not the R) the outtie took the xp off the line and the xp caught it midrange. im sure if you go on youtube there is probably lots of vids on there
Thanks
not all that great with computer stuff but do like following your website, bought a new 850 XP 2009 and like to hear what the guys have to comment on them good or bad. Sorry would probably be more chatty if I was better with my computer skills. We are totally friendly up here in Northern British Columbia and like to show off our quadding area, mountains and glaciers, let me know when your coming glad to show you around.
Funny to hear about the weight issue from the ones who have never ridden a Polaris.
Go to the deep mud and see who's going through, who's being pulled through, and who's skirting the frost in the spring because they can't find bottom or don't have a machine with real 4 wheel drive.
Guess only guys who have to carry their rig accross the line need worry about weight.
I ride with a couple buddies who have the 850's...pretty hard to knock em, they are a beautiful ride, and have nice smooth power. If I wasn't addicted to high gear wheelies on my Outty, I might actually buy one.
i don't know why people think its so hard to get a polaris bike unstuck. most of the time i can get off pull on the rack extender and get myself out. other times 1 guy pushing does the trick. i have never used the winch on my 850 and on my old bikes the winch barely got used. To me it seems alot of people don't know proper angles when winching. hook the winch in the right spot and its effortless.
fabulous quad i had a 2010 850 xp with ps, it was the sweetest quad i have owned and the ps is a must, trust me on this, i went to a rzr s now and traded it in at cycle works west with 120 miles on it if your looking for a great deal on a like new quad.
love mine great machine no problems. never really raced heads up but i do know mine with me and the girlfriend on it will spank a brute with one rider. only ever had to use my winch 2 times to pull myself out and neither were cause of its weight. just thick slime that nothing could get through.
