You don't know the facts. The Canadian government did subsidize the planes and trains portion of Bombardier. The recreactional division was split years ago and has never received a $.
Fair enough............but it's still a company in Quebec.

Seems I do know my facts after some quick google searching. BRP is just smart in how they acquire these government funds. They partner with the University of Sherbrooke and then receive 11.3 million from the government to help develop the hybrid spyder.

Do you seriously believe the government only gives funds to BRP? Google till the cows come home. They subsidize everything.

does polaris give out grants to the different snowmobile clubs? like I said etec with nerly 4000 on it with pipes clutching done and still have yet to see that check engine light come on! or even sputter once! I like the look of the new pro was not a big fan of the feel of it but i'm sure if i rode it more I would get used to it. That being said I feel like the polaris and the cat when you stand on them still feel like you have a lumber wagon in front of you! XP is still the closet feeling to riding a dirtbike and that is the feeling I like. polaris also needs to widen there running boards I'm 5'8'' 160 pounds with size 9 feet and my feet over hang on the sides of those running boards!

how have the new polaris pro motors been this year? I have heard some mixed reviews but have never actually seen ones motor go down so i'm just wondering if it's story time or if it was true that they were still having issues? I know that new cat sure has its issues! I hope a certain littel fella from cranbrook is reading cause last I heard he was yipping to me about how is new cat is the best thing ever but yet he has gone through two new belts and had major difficulty locating the third bahahahaha

Well you must have some pretty odd feeling dirt bikes iyour shed, cause I've never ridden many that are really hard to lean ove and have a big wide base and a quick taper to the top end. Jump on a Sno-Hawk take it for a rip, then a Pro then an XP and Cat, you'll see right away which one is most similar to the sno bike. Stand behind your XP beside a Pro and that'll help ya figure out why the Pro is so much easier to sidehill and boondock. And ya ya ya I know, you have no problems cause you're an expert and we should all learn to ride like you. I think Cat was on the right track but are not quite there yet with the big fat cheeks and the wider chassis at the base, but like the XP it makes a great stable platform for the trail. Even BRP is learning, as is evident with their recent changes in the 012 sleds but unfortunatley they can't just keep getting narrower front ends, of course it doesn't matter to cool aid drinkers, it was awesom in 09 to 11 best ever easiest to boondock, way better than the competition, then they come in 12 far more similar to the same competition and lo and behold.....now its even better, imagine if they put one dual ski in the middle like an old massey tractor,. Come clean , you'd love that too as long as it said BRP on it. Look behind you boy, the cool aid drinkin zealot crowd is shrinkin up a bit, cause the other guys are moving ahead. If it wasn't for the good HP, you'd really be lonely at your Doo club house. Been there, done that.

The issue was with the 09 RMK. The engine had 62.4 hours on it according to the down load.No issues with Pro i currently own ..... Too early to tell. I will be getting it compression checked often as long as the warranty lasts. Guess I have an issue with companies selling a product and not standing behind it. Sent an email to Polaris and they responded with a phone number to call which seems to be busy every moment of every day. Go figure.

or you can buy the etec and have 4000 km's without a hiccup with only 1 belt blown in 4000 km's and no other issues I say skidoo stepped up quite a bit with the new motor!
Wow 4000kms and it's still going your running on borrowed time. One of the guys in our groups etec went south at 2200kms crank and pistons.if you make 3000kms you are doing good.

Ya every dragon owner got stuck behind chit engines until they are PROPERLY rebuilt, not by polaris garbage rebuild kit but by a PMS kit. As far as the pros go, I have not heard of any problems other then the TPS getting iced up and going into limp mode, which is easily resolved by taking the connection apart in behind the belt and putting dialectic grease on both end and replugging it back it. SOOO other then the Dragons engine polaris has been bring their chit image of the dragons back with the pro, hence of the 3 yr warranty they offer on the pro, just like most other dealers.

I've got an 2010 800 Dragon and I love it. Hasn't missed a beat (except for the voltage reg at 0.5 hours.) I'm not really running the crap out of it, though, like some guys.

Is there something I could be checking to prevent engine problems?

thats because in 2010 they made the cylinder walls thicker and longer. im wondering how "the fix" cures the 08/09 motor problem? its wiseco piston. has nothing to do with fixing the lean condition and the hammering of the piston under detonation. biggest thing you have to watch on the polaris is fuel filters. they plug up and then lean down.

did the piston recall gotta love a free top end! and as for dirtbike feeling I'm not talking about a gayazz sno hawk I'm saying the feel to me on an xp the new 11 and 12 feels like i'm riding a dirtbike because of how narrow that front end is! not because i like gay sno hawks! never once said i was an expert either sorry if you poo boys get a little cranky that some guys still think the polaris and cat dont handle worth a damn to them! thats my opinion you guys can share your opinion on great they are why cant I share and opinion that has my opinion that i dont like the handling? last time i checked I seen just as many if not more doo's everytime i go to revy golden the pass radium valemount sorry buddy but i dont drink cool aid either and as far as the crowd shrinking behind me I think the doo crowd just keeps on growing and yes i have had the other brands of sleds I'm not just a guy who rides one brand I HAVE HAD CATS AND POOS AND I LIKE THE DOOS! and yes i do love the horsepower of my DOO I love that DOO make a solid motor that doesnt blow up and that they dont have to majorly reduce horsepower to keep there motors running!!!! and at 4000 km I'm not worried 1 bit that motor has been phenomenal even if it blows up next week I still got more km's on this motor then my cat and poo combined.

Sorry to swing this thread off topic again but I have a bit of an issue with being labeled as a red neck bigot because I don't want to support a company based in Quebec. Even if BRP receives no direct subsidy from the Canadian government, they still benefit from the Canadian deal as it pertains to Wealth distribution. If your happy with your BRP product and feel good about paying more for it to support a CANADIAN company, great. But if you are from Western Canada and don't feel like you get the shaft from Quebec's constant whining for hand outs and special status, you must like taking it. Remember that the people of Quebec were less than a couple of % away from voting to separate from Canada, personally wish they would have done it. So if that makes me a red neck bigot, that's your opinion, but I think we western Canadians have a good reason to feel this way.

when that was happening, BRP threatened to pull out of quebec if the "oui" side won.
