Sorry to swing this thread off topic again but I have a bit of an issue with being labeled as a red neck bigot because I don't want to support a company based in Quebec. Even if BRP receives no direct subsidy from the Canadian government, they still benefit from the Canadian deal as it pertains to Wealth distribution. If your happy with your BRP product and feel good about paying more for it to support a CANADIAN company, great. But if you are from Western Canada and don't feel like you get the shaft from Quebec's constant whining for hand outs and special status, you must like taking it. Remember that the people of Quebec were less than a couple of % away from voting to separate from Canada, personally wish they would have done it. So if that makes me a red neck bigot, that's your opinion, but I think we western Canadians have a good reason to feel this way.

I could not agree more !! Great post, trench !

Hey Trench, I agree on some of your points about the Quebec thing. However I would like to share with you a story from 1995 if my memory serves me correct. Back in 95 BRP had a container of 780cc engines go missing off a boat in the St Lawrence harbour. It was viewed as an inside job but the engines never made it to Valcourt for the assembly line. At this time the seperatist movement was at its peak. Long story short is eventually the engines were found floating on a barge in the St Lawrence and did in fact get to the chassis's to be delivered to the dealers. It was viewed internally as a pro Seperatist deal because of BRP's stance against seperatism. Pierre Beaudoin, CEO at the time called all employees to the local hockey rink for a meeting. Bombardier is a Canadian company first and does not support seperating. Anyone that does not have the same feeling should walk out the door and cheques will be mailed to you as you will no longer be a Bombardier employee. Not alot of people know that story but I was told because of my ties to BRP at the time. So I guess what I am saying is the Bombardier family views itself as a Canadian company that is based out of Quebec. Not every company in Quebec wants to seperate. Hope that helps you to understand things abit better.

Hey no problem. I enjoy the brand wars. Makes the sport fun. We may not agree but I can see that Polaris is making huge strides the last 3 years. I'll still drink a beer with you and laugh about it. Just hate the whole BRP against the rest of the world arguments. There are reasons why Bombardier gets loans from the governments its just no one takes the time to understand why they are getting the deal. Farmers get interest free loans from the government, GM and Dodge got special deals from the US government. They all have to be payed back and they are or there are consequences. Simple as that.:beer:

The brand wars are good for us as riders, I can't imagine going back to my 2002 RMK 800. All of the sleds we ride today are good products, and getting better each year. I also will drink beer with most anyone, but that's a different issue!!!

It's good that the manufacturers push each other. No one wants to go back to the early 90's. Lol.

Ya the brand wars are fun, I just don't want my life in the hands of a "maybe" separatist! Oh they know which ones are going out west, eh...set the torque wrench back alittle...haha
Funny how Ford didn't need a bailout they just asked for something really bad to happen to Toyota!!
