well thats what im trying to get an answer about... becuase i dont wanna be stuck with a sled that im going to hate.... so i just want to know is it really going to be a difference like some people say ?

Oh those 163s all they are good for is going straight up and down... if that is in fact the case i need to know now.
And other say 163 is the way do go for rippin tress and boondocking and all that jazz...

so what exactly is it? cause i could care less if i can make it high on the side of the mountain the anyone else... but i do care about playing in the trees and finding the deep pow in the bowls and sidhilling and all that fun stuff.

Your gonna love it and it will have no problems playin in the trees. You made the right choice and once you get onto it pretty sure your not gonna miss the shorter track.

Ok I'll bite, I've owned 3 163"s and a 154, the 163 as you know is only 4.5" longer than the 154 but the sled climbs so much nicer and flatter than the 154. The flotation is so much better on the 163, Truthfully I really hated climbing with the 154 on really steep pulls. The 154 is slightly easier to throw around and I mean SLIGHTLY and I'm about 190 with gear on, you'll be glad you have the 163 on a whooped out trail, way smoother ride than the 154.
Truthfully I believe your over thinking it, learn what you have and dangle the crap out of your new sled.

Im on my first 163 after a bunch of 154s. NO regrets at all. Only one is waiting this long to go to a 163. All goods.....no real negatives to going longer.

You will hate it! It will be impossible to ride…… But if you are nice I will take it off your hands for …. Say 75% of what you paid for it…….. If you throw in a jug of oil and a tank of fuel.

lol you guys are awesome. thanx for the help. I picked up my new 14 163 today... and let me say this thing is sick... i lined it up with the 2011 m8 hcr in my garage ... the length diff is like minimal. I'm super excited to have my debut on this thing up in the hills.

Right on!! enjoy your new sled!!

By the way, that burn in your legs from changing to the rider forward will pass after a few days out, and the sore muscles that you have will be from grinning like a fool all day!! You are gonna love it.....I am convinced that these sleds are designed to make it easier for you to become a better rider.

For my self when I went to the 163 from 154 ten years ago, I had first really not liked the bigger track, it takes more effort to handle and pushes the sled straight fighting a turn your trying to make, fun factor might drop a bit in the trees for sure

now going to a 174 from a163, even more push and harder to turn but better flotation and better geometry for big hp, and fun factor less again, only way to make your sled feel like a smaller track is drop sled weight or become more aggressive rider I found

All in all a154 is a easy to handle light track that is useful on most days of riding, and best fun factor on most days in the trees, I would think the 3 inch 154 to be a real winner

I put t motion into my xp...

I let lbz ride my xmx cause that's what he had and road the xp..

Never again will I ride it ... road the xmx again yesterday... Even the xp being 50%of the xmx, my forearms tell me the other 50% is needed for sure...

Still fight it too much...unlike the xmx

lol the pics little icon insert pic. Consider yourself lucky the 163s are in demand. You are on the best ride for 2014 no question. Seriously your sleds not glued together like the other guys junk. Its not on an out dated chasis like the other guys junk shows. It is simply the best ride money can buy for 2014. Enjoy it and ride it like ya stole it they like that.

ok wwell i tried putting the pic up and still no luck i think its because our internet here at work is ****. but as for the sled i rode it the last two weekends and i have nothing but good to say about it... i cant tell its a 163 it goes like a raped ape.... and its stupidly easy to ride .. like to the point i almost think i could take a run up the mountain, jump off, grab a twisted tea.. and it will finish the sidehill for me and come on rite back. this thing is awesome.

How do these 163's handle on the hardpack and super wet, heavy snow? I'm looking at getting a 2015 154 but am intrigued by the 163.
