Did i make the wrong choice on the xm 163? im all about the trees and boondocking and what have you. Im not a hill climb kind of guy.

Please help me before its to late and i may be stuck with somthing i dont want.

You made the right choice, that 163 will out dangle your old 153 plus the longer track will be beneficial with your riding style and weight as well.

163 all the way , didn't even notice the difference in handling compared to the shorter track

I'm not a big guy (and I'm not saying you might be fat!) and my last 4 sleds have been 163's. They are awesome in the trees and give me some time to pick a better line. The trees in the Koot's are tight, some say very tight, and with the 163 there is floatation and split second hesitation possibilities that aren't there with the shorter tracks. The other thing you will notice is that when you have to slow down a little to pick a line you will have that extra floatation and decision making will be sweet.

You are on the perfect sled, you will love the 163" People say they don't turn as well, honestly I think they don't know how to ride. Your going to love the floatation on the 163" The length difference is about 4" between a 154 and 163.

well thats what im trying to get an answer about... becuase i dont wanna be stuck with a sled that im going to hate.... so i just want to know is it really going to be a difference like some people say ?

Oh those 163s all they are good for is going straight up and down... if that is in fact the case i need to know now.
And other say 163 is the way do go for rippin tress and boondocking and all that jazz...

so what exactly is it? cause i could care less if i can make it high on the side of the mountain the anyone else... but i do care about playing in the trees and finding the deep pow in the bowls and sidhilling and all that fun stuff.

The guys that think 163's are yachts have likely never ridden one or if they did it was an old POS trailing arm chassis. 163 owns the trees, more traction and floatation for better decision making and more forgiving for when you do make the wrong decision. If riding trees at mach chicken is your thing it'll still go just as fast as a 154 anyway.

Yes " Im for real" im sorry for asking seeing as ive never owned one. I have just heard stories, i hope thats not a real huge problem for you.

sorry, I had to ask as there are some "alters" on here that like to stir the pot.

I think you are fine with either as you mentioned earlier its about 5inches of actual length and a few lbs heavier. I still like the 154 and may go 146 again for 2015. Im 5'8" and 155lbs

I bet if a guy wasn't told the length and tries both it would be hard to notice

enjoy the XM
