Photography - Whats everyone using?

Just curious as to what kind of digital camera equipment evryone is shooting with. I finally broke down and bought one....K20 Pentax. Came with a 50 - 200 mil auto focus motorized zoom and then my kids bought me a 18-55 lens for Christmas....used to be big into 35 mil cameras and had a hard time making the big leap. I'm having a bit of a struggle figuring what all this thing does....maybe spending some time reading the manual (as big as a phone book) might help. Wanting to buy a new flash but unsure of what to buy....also want a big honkin zoom...I want ...I want ....

I run a Canon 5D MKII as a primary and a Canon 20D as a back up with a selection of lenses. I also have a few point and shoots with my Olympus being my favourite.

Pentax is a nice system. You won't be disappointed... And yes, please read your manual! Can't tell you how many people ask me for my advice as to why their pictures aren't up to par and its because they can't select their focus point!!

Canon Powershot SX110 IS. Point and shoot, easy to use, and takes great pictures.

When looking at cameras, I recommend looking for one with a high optical zoom 8 or 10X, at least 4 mega pixels (more if you plan on printing 8 x 10 prints), and at least a 3" LCD screen.

I bet, that kind of equipment is uber expensive. I would think that a new track would be pretty cheap compared to that stuff:d

It is a "bendy" lens that has a disc with an opening of varying apertures and shapes that will create a selective depth of field to focus your eye in one spot. If the aperture disc is a shape (star, heart, etc.,) then all of the highlights in the unfocussed area will be in that shape. Its really very artsy fartsy and novel, but COOL!!

I have slammed with it taking video while snowboarding, swam with it, dropped it on rocks, left it outside in the cold, left it inside in the warmth. Thing still takes photos dang well. Point and shoot, but small enough to stick in a pocket for a day of sledding or skiing. I would buy another one in a heartbeat, but only after this one packs it in.

My hubby had one of these. It was awesome. Unfortunately, not 2-year old proof. She had it for 15 seconds in the truck one day, pried on the lens cover mechanism and hooped the camera... OOOPS!

Awesome camera, I've had mine from the top of mountains to in the ocean and everywhere in between. It's only flaw is poor lowlight capabilites, my pics come out grainy.
