They are everywhere and in every town. Use the cruise control set to the speed limit and don't worry about them.

I have a photo radar question. My little brother received a photo ticket in the mail the other day. The ticket is from the Town of Wainwright, and is for failing to stop at a stop sign. So its a picture of the rear of his car, with the brake lights on. Ticket is $388. Anyone have an experience like this?

There is a funny story in Lloyd not sure if it is true but, some high school kids stole the plate off the photo radar truck, put it on the back of their truck and roared pats the photo truck a dozen times.

Now THAT is funny. Same kinda crap we would pull as kids

Parking on a bridge is a pretty major safety issue wouldn't you think?
Peoples lives are at risk to generate some extra cash flow.

They have a designated lane for the photo vehicle to park without impeding traffic.

Wtf...in BC photo tax trap radar was tossed out years ago. Didn't know Alberta was still collecting Polaroid taxes. Aren't we in the same country? Could never understand why rules are so different between provinces.
Like sending a ticket out 2weeks after the crime is committed makes sense. Good job boys I feel so much safer now that you have your funds.

So, what if a vehicle blew a tire or hit a patch of ice while approaching a 5000 lb stationary object?
What is that impact going to look like vs. the exact same situation and the vehicle drifts into an empty
lane with a guard rail?
If it is safe for a vehicle to drive past something on the shoulder (3-4' away) at 100-110khp
then why would I have to slow to 60 kph and move to another lane to pass a cop?

Someone somewhere WILL hit one of these photo radar vehicles one day, the vehicle that
hit the parked vehicle will get launched over the rail and the occupants WILL die from the crash/ the 30ft fall/landing in traffic going 110 kph below them or a combination of all of the above. There is no doubt if it will ever happen, its WHEN it will.

Parking on the shoulder of any road way is taking a major risk.
Parking on a bridge where an out of control vehicle has no choices
as to where to try to steer the vehicle is "full retard"
If you have ever had to pull over to take a piss do you stand on the white
line where you are "not impeding traffic" or do you completely get away from
road ?
God ,I hope you don't pass safety information onto other people.

I got one in Saskatoon a few years ago at a light they sent two pics, one showing red as I entered and another showing red in the intersection, guilty and paid it. You could phone points or one of the ticket defenders they will tell you for free if you have a defense, problem is if they defend for you it's likely as much or more than the ticket. Seems weird a red light ticket at a stop sign, I think I'd consider fighting it on your own, call the local prosecutor and talk with them to see if was photo or video.

It's actually illegal to park on a bridge. I guess tax collectors don't have to follow rules.

Peace River had contracted a company to do photo radar but it was terminated at the end of December. as well as speeding tickets, they were handing out failure to stop tickets to anyone they recorded not stopping at stop lights or stop signs, even to vehicles that did not come to a complete stop for a full 3 seconds. they would send a ticket in the mail, with a link to the video. lots of people were pissed, many fought the failure to stop tickets and won because there is no law that states you must stop for three seconds. now even the sherriffs are handing out failure to stop for three full seconds tickets.

Stand on the white line p$ssing! ....do this only once till a transport truck goes by. Yep not a good idea.
