Hi I’m looking for any information anyone can provide on a head on accident on the owls head trail in Sicamous, around 230-3pm on dec 7. Someone must have seen it, helicopter took my friend from scene to salmon arm.

Please update us on your friends status. We are all praying for your friends well being.

Just an update, he is in stable condition awake from coma and breathing on his own, but has a long road ahead of him. Still no
luck on finding the other rider, all we know is his sled had a blue wrap on it and he was a shorter French guy, May have being riding with a couple locals, we have herd it is a large group staying in the malakwa area. Any info would help, thanks.

I am not trying to pry, but have you got any details from your friend as to how this al transpired? I sure hope the missing person was the one to call for help.... I am sure we are all also wondering where this took place. It is just so scary that one man can be in a coma and the other good enough to ride down the hill and away from all of this termoil.

Maybe the guy was just in shock and didn't know what to do. Hopefully he comes forward in the coming days, and hopefully the injured pulls through alright.

Not many details, they were half a km from the trucks maybe a bit further, I know the other snowmobiler used injured riders phone to call some locals for help. My friend was on a snow bike and was hit head on from a snowmobile, he wasn’t going real fast when accident happened. I am unsure how other rider made out, it doesn’t make sense.

I'm only asking, but why are we looking for the other guy? Has he broken a law and the cops are looking for him? He stuck around until the injured rider was airlifted. What else is there to do?

I would think leaving the scene of an accident is one issue, also there is a liability issue in regards to serious injury’s. I’m not sure how insurance works in the instance on a forestry road, but this should be looked at too.

The person injured was actually going down the hill on the proper side
the person that hit him was cooling off his sled in the deep snow and came out cutting straight across the trail. Which cause the accident

The other rider admitted to being in the wrong as he was riding off to the side cooling his sled off in the deep snow. He then cut across the trail hitting the now injured person. Nobody got information - name, phone # etc that is what this post is hoping to find

injured person clarification - there was a lot of internal bleeding due to a pelvis injury he suffered. He was heavily sedated to manage the pain. Yesterday he was brought out of the sedation and has a very long road ahead of him.

Renes and his accident are completely unrelated. Different days and mountains. We are very sorry to hear of his passing.

After doing some reading there is liability to anyone riding in the mountains. Hope he had insurance...

Those parts of the motor vehicle act apply equally on an FSR under the forest service road use regulation.

Some forestry roads are 50/50 regardless who's at fault,hope your friend has a speedy recovery and find other guy.
