Just bought an 08 xp 800 with 1100 miles on it and now found out a buddy will sell me a 2010 m8 snopro with 1400 kms on it for a good deal. Opinions on what I should do thx

Tough question. Try to ride them both if you can, then decide. I personally don't like the XP chassis, but that's me. Love my M chassis. For sure the Cat 800 motor reliability is hard to beat.

Ya for sure try them both if you can, Personally I would keep the xp as it is a more current design of chassis (rider foreward) wich all sleds are now, And with some minor mods depending on budget you can get it pretty close to the same as the current xm (post foreward kit, s36 front end and tmotion depending on your budget. I also like the old M chassis for bangin around but I just never got to the point where I would want one permanently. So my vote is xp

I would stick with the XP. Better climber, lighter, better weight transfer(more fun). But...reliability is not as good as the Cat and she's a beast in the technical stuff compared to the Cat. More work to ride in the tough stuff. But I would still rip the XP over the Cat. Ugh, can't believe I just said that. Damn you Doo-Laide

You have to ride them both, very different machines from a riders perspective. I tried to like the xp, even had one for a while, but I just couldn't ride it as well as I could ride an M. Lots of guys feel the opposite. If it's that good of a buy do what Brutematt750 said, get them both, keep one as a spare/buddies sled, and ride the one you like.

Tough choice. That's a decent deal on the M8 and they are bombproof with a few fixes. (Steering post, DD bearing)

Have you ridden the M's?

GET THE CAT!!!! It will out handle and out last the skidoo. Save your money and buy a 2016 xm.

I love my 2010 M8. I would have no problem buying an XM so this isn't a brand loyalty thing. Just about every XP rider who bought an XM has been thrilled with the upgrade. You don't see too many "happy to be finally rid of the M8" threads

M8 is going to handle a lot more like your Dragon than the XP, some guys really like the XP and can ride them well, I never liked the way they worked in the deep snow, it was fun on the trail though!

I personally have no problem with the xp in the deep powder,it all depends on the rider being a rider preference.

Think I'm gonna buy m8 and keep xp for as long as the wife will let me hold on to them. Then I got options. Try and get a feel for them both
