Had to share my interesting luck from the weekend. I always wear my tether, I have the plastic clip the doo comes with hooked to a carabiner to my avy vest.

Well...this weekend for a day rip to Quartz...I get bucked off the sled, the tether snaps, whips back and wraps around my throttle holding it about 3/4 sending it off a 40ft cliff into some trees. There is no possible way I could ever re-create that series of events. Talk about nuts!

Even crazier that seems like the only damage is the bumper, the hood and brake reservoir!

Interesting and this year i was thinking of wearing my tether for the first time ever. I might want to rethink that again.

I still think its good to wear a tether. I'd just get a carabiner and not use the plastic little clip at all. I'll still be wearing one even after this. Just crazy!

I have had my tether break when caught in the bars. No throttle wrap though. Had one of the tabs on the new style DESS break off. It won't hold on very good with 3. Luckily I carry a spare!

Chitty luck. But then again, after reading your heading, I thought you were pregnant!
Glad you're ok.

hahahaha I nearly spit my water out reading this lol. Lord no. If I was I would of thrown myself off the cliff :p

Are you gonna get one of those teth air contraptions?

No sir. Since starting riding in 09 this is one of the few incidents I've had with it and it was bad. I'll stick with a carabeiner and just never use the stupid plastic clip again

Yeah it could have been bad. I have collision but still never really want to have to use it.

HA! I'm gonna have to bug my buddy now, he asked me why I don't use the plastic clip. I use a carabiner thru the end of the loop on the cord. He was like oh I'm sure Brp did their home work, the plastic clip is fine.........in your face ! That's pretty crazy though to have that all happen like so! Good ur ok.

hahaha yes, please tell your buddy to forego using the plastic clip and have a carabiner attached right to the tether. It was very crazy.

Yeah I know they do. I've been riding with a guy a few times and he had nothing but issues with his. PITA. I don't mind the tether at all. And what are the odds of this ever happening?! Just such a fluke. HTR makes a tether extension piece too so you have more length that seems to help the tether catching the bars or anything.

Edit: or HTR used to make one. I can't find it on their website.
