Hypothetically speakin'... If a guy has an old sled that was on fire and he tried to rewire it... what is really needed to be re-wired?

I have an Everest 444 L/C that had a rough weekend...

I am wondering if the engine harness is ok, maybe a guy can simply wire it with a kill switch and not much else? internal coils, external coils, and a something to break the circuit?

I would hate to see this thing be a pile of parts... but maybe its done for....

I would replace all the damaged wiring if possible or find a donor harness
Ya I hear you but I'm not worried about the hi beams switch anymore lol... If it ever idles again I'd be happy.

I guess my question is what do you really need to make it run?

With the wiring harness from under the flywheel not plugged into anything it should run. All you need is a way to shut it off, and all they did back then was ground the primary side of the coils with a switch.

As said above. Should just need the magnito, coils and kill switch to run.

Add the voltage regulator back in to get that cigarette lighter back up and running. A guy Should have a dart hanging from your mouth at all times on that baby!

Well I finally had a Friday night to piss around with the wiring on the 444… had to ditch the harness and re wire from the stator to the coils… got her running! At least it’s not a pile of parts…I need to cut in a kill switch, had to smother the carb to shut it off but I’ll get a headlight and grip warmers wired up eventually too.

ran all new fuel lines, new primer pump, new gas cap, replaced the pull cord and handle… plus new coils, plug wires and plugs…
