That was a bummer of a loss.
I thought they skated well, I loved the game last night, minus the 4th line. I just hope Eakins doesn't burn out our top 6 before Gagner comes back. The team won corsi ratings again last night, I don't think they went 4 games with their corsi in the black all of last year. The wins will come.

I would really Love to see them at least make the playoffs this year even if they succumb to an early exit. However after a bad start and now a 6 game eastern swing starting with the Hot Leafs if they cant muster up a few wins on this trip they are destined for a Loooong season of catch up and probably looking at good draft picks AGAIN!! I really can't believe that with their talent they cant even get ahead of Calgary in the points standings who on the books looks like a way worse team. But gritty play and solid 60 minutes makes them a more solid team. (Cant believe I said that as I hate the Flames) I thought MacT promised a grittier tougher team but where was the retaliation after Hallsy got creamed from behind last night? Not even a rubbed glove in the face of Montreal? Come on guys wake up and play the game like hockey is supposed to be played. Do you think anyone would ever have gotten away with Rubbing Gretsky into the boards like that? They have turned this team into a bunch of tiptoeing figure skaters out there who belong on battle of the blades not NHL!! I guess its time to pull out the 67 leafs Jersey and go back to rooting for a team that has a little desire to play and win!! Saturday game is gonna be a tough one to be an Oiler fan!

I see what you're saying. That fight Gazdic had sure didn't keep Eller from boarding Hall, hmm... funny how that works. I wish the team had responded, though, I'm sure at the time they just wanted to make use of the power play and tie it up.
I have found that they've been *better*, marginally, but better at getting involved in scrums and getting between players around the net and stuff. Perron is a little ****, he seems to always be in the middle of it. love it. Would be nice to see more retaliation, like you said. But they played the body well last night, led in hits, and were physical.

If they unable to perform at an adequate level..........
Until lowmacttmesssierhu buchberger and the rest of the bus boys are shown the door ,failure is all but assured.
Results not old idols should the measuring stick used to achieve improvement and a viable plan for development....
In short, with out a complete cleaning house of X oilers , much more of the same is our long term future !!!!
