Most excellent......... Oilers #1, calgary #14, columbus #2, montreal #3, islanders #4 and leafs #5 picks......... 1st time ever the #2 seed beats out the #1 seed in the lottery...... Also only 2nd time that any team gets 3 first rounders in a row(previous was the nordiques)

HaHa! Someday this may all pan out but for now.........................I wouldn't be to proud of picking first 3 years in a row. Goes to show just how far off the rails the Oilers train actually was. Lol.;)

NHL must be feeling sorry for the oiler fans, figure they won't buy seats next year with such a fun team. may as well give them 3 picks in a row = same outcome. 0

Trouble being is , down the road this is going to cost them huge in the cap world, Next year without a playoff spot is going to severely hamper the mentality of these youngsters

Something tells me Iggy wont be in Alberta next season, at his age hes going to want an option to go to a contender, Kippy and Himself have carried the team for too long i.m.o, and the team is getting older, they need some youth injected into the system, and im not positive but i dont see a lot of up and comers in their propect pool. Tough times are upon Calgary, they have tried to build the team just as Toronto did, by taking on big cap hits with older players.... That doesnt work in todays NHL, you need a solid core, let them grow together, and then fill in the odd missing peice, the draft is the only way to do it in todays cap era.
The Oil at least hold an upper hand now, where they have some options, although i dont for-see them getting rid of Nail, they have enough solid D men coming up through Oklahoma, what they have truly gained is bargaining power for those few missing elements. Think about it this way, for example if you were a young say Carey Price, and the habs were going to deal him like they did with Halak . 2 years ago Carey would have said f-that im not going to play on a team comprised of nothing.... Now if the option were available hell yeah he would , they all play for the same reason the love of the game and a chance to get their name engraved on that cup.
The lure to play in Edmonton just got that much bigger for allot of them free agents, that would have otherwise said not a chance. With a healthy eberle, hall, Hopkins, hemsky, and Nail... what is your game plan to shut down that kind of power? There really isnt one, you can cover 2 of them, but good luck finding 2 lines that can match the skill they will develop. just my 2 cents

So which #1 pick's family will go all Lindros on ya? Best thing that ever happened to Quebec/Colorado, was the Lindros clan yapping off. Last time I counted it's Les Avalanche 2 Lindros 0!
Not sure if that would happen again Grizzly, you have to really look at an individuals off ice habits, as well as his personal directive. The reason I say this and I am no scout or anything, but during the lock out season Lindros was attending Fanshawe college in London Ontario, I just so happened to be doing my 4th year autobody at the same time. I knew of him, and his on ice feats, and had bumped into him in the cafeteria on 2 occasions, being a hockey fan, i couldnt help but try to start a conversation with him.... Well that lasted about 30 seconds, he looked at me and said do i know you? I said no and that i was just a fan of his junior playing, I got fawk off then as a reply.......That right there says allot about him as an individual
I often wonder if that concussion that ended his career knocked any sense into him. He was an arrogant sob, back then, and karma came back and whipped his azz.

Wow you have a hate on for Lindros, who would want to go to Quebec? I don't blame him. His career was ended early because of stupid managment playing him wrong. He's a scorer type like Crosby, Nash even though he's big not a tough guy. He was a hell of a good player. Speaking of arrogant hall is likely worse, I am waiting to hear one day when someone knocks him out at the bar. He's good on the ice but needs a attitude adjustment off the ice, oilers would be brain dead to think of making him the captain anytime soon.

Hate to bust your little bubble there cyle, but much like concrete, you havent got a clue about hockey either, go back through the years and look and some of the players that have come out of Quebec... Stasny Brothers come to mind, Hmm Patrick Roy, Lafleur, Brodeur..........just to name a couple, I could go on for ever with this but it would be like smashing my head against a wall of your concrete.
And for the record i dont have a hate on for big E, i loved watching him play junior hockey in the OHL, just turns out his ego was bigger then himself, and as far as mis mangaed????? Hardly, He was supposed to be a dominate power forward, and in some ways he was, trouble is the dumb ass always skated with his head down.

I know a few waitresses at bars and they all say EXACTLY the same thing, the only reason bouncers haven't personally taken care of him is because of his name, and they are STILL close to doing it. When someone is so disrespectful they are walking up to girls grabbing their ass and saying "Your coming home with me" and basically harassing them non-stop, ya I do know. And a female friend of mine went to talk to him at a bar and he was a complete a$$, she said hi to him and he told her to fawk off.

I have NEVER heard ANYTHING good about him in the public. Ask ANYONE who has met him, or just seen him and how he acts. Only that the others like hopkins, eberle, smid, are nice enough they almost make up for hall being a idiot.

Anyone who thinks he's actually a decent person in public is retarded. I don't really care, I find it funny because it's going to be hilarious to hear when someone cleans his clock in a bar......

Go ahead and do your concrete like that, I will be the guy fixing it in a few years like always from people who though they knew what they were doing.

Anyways, nothing wrong with playing with quebec but there is NO reason to blame a player for not wanting to go there. And what does good players on a team have anything about wanting to play there? He doesn't speak french so why would he? Colorado use to be my favourite team, but it's besides the point. Not every player want to play everywhere......Is Nash a douche for wanting out to?

Pull out your tampons.
