Anyone else have their 850 cover the plugs and boots and whole top of back of the head with oil? Not sure where it's coming from - was gonna wash it all off and run it on the lift and see if I can figure out where it's coming from

Huh??? Did you physically see the plug spitting oil??? I would think the engine would of been down on power if compression was being lost out the threads of the plug.

It's boosted - silber kit - PTO side I took the plug out by hand - I'm thinking the loose plug was caused by detonation

I was wondering about detonation, has it been??? I didn’t know it was boosted, that’s more than likely your cause.

Pull your charge silicon tube off and check the massive oil in it..... charge tube prob worn a spot thru... mine started to wear and I took it off and couldn’t believe the oil in the charge tube... FYI I tie wrapped a heater hose patch over the wear spot because mine was not worn thru yet but close

Would be a good idea to check crank run out. When my boosted xm was loosening the plugs a rebuild wasn't too far away.

So that's intake side - oooof - and the seals around the rave valve shafts are leaking #8 on the doo expanded view - they don't look fun to change - is this a common occurrence with boost on these 850's for #8 to be leaking

Makes you wonder about the chitty Chinese turbo tolerances that allow that much oil to leak..... I actually cleaned the oil up and put another 1200 Kms on it then sent it....

By the looks of that sludge you're getting some moisture in your charge tubes as well. What are you using for an intake? Water in fuel can cause detonation too.

Changing to a heavier oil like motor oil may prevent the seals from passing as much but you will get that 1976 Datsun smell after a long pull.

I'm thinking he should drain the fuel and put fresh in it and check it after a day of riding
