I went for my first ride and then pulled the pipe, suitcase, etc.. There was oil splattered all over the belly pan below the Y-pipe. As mentioned above, blowing out of the gasket between the pipe and the Y-pipe. Not a big deal and probably quite normal.

Seriously?.........You guys are ok with this and find this acceptable?........Really

I have an old 2003 FireCat that does this once in a while...it pizzez me off .......but its 15 years old! For you guys to have a brand new 2018 BRP splattering oil around the engine area and piddling on the floor is deeming it acceptable kinda shows how drunk you guys are on doo-tang...YIKES

I think there should be a better way to seal those puppies other than the donut they have been using for years. I guess I have grown used to it and some years have more oil than others. This just happens to be one of those years with too much oil (I don't have oil dripping out on the floor tho'). I can think of a lot of other things that would p*ss me off more.

all this new tech and none is applied to sealing the pipe...all OEM's are guilty

Well we could start a "Problems with the 2018 G4" but we all know how that turned out with the 2017.
Lots of doolaid tears till it got pulled.
It did however consolidate issues to one thread.
Compared to last year dripping oil for a doo owner is minor.
Besides Daggy said it's OK, video may come out.
Likely go away after breakin. Just messy, at least has no $ impact.

As mentioned previously once heated up and donut swells, the small amount of two stroke break in oil will be eliminated. All I did was sprayed brake clean and let it filter out the belly. Nothing to post a bulletin over.

Took the sled out the other day finally, only got to ride about 30 miles but the oil is still leaking. It is coming from the gasket on the Y pipe. Makes a mess all over the engine compartment. BRP should have a better way to make make this seal.

Have you contacted your dealer? Maybe its missing the seal or needs to be replaced? Possibly damaged when installing a skid plate. Unless your dealer follows you on snow and mud how is he going to know you have a problem?

I have talked to the dealer twice about it and they keep saying it is from the factory over oiling during assembly. Don’t know how to get the dealer to believe.

New dealer will most likely believe you and would be happy with your business.
