As far back as the hillclimb is as far as you go. Creeks still open. Probably two weks behind last year. Long drive for a trail ride.

talked to some guys at the hotel today who went riding. we drove up to km 6 at clemina to take a look and hit a good amount of snow. the guys that went riding said it was pretty good but still pretty early yet. on the way down their truck slid off the trail and wrecked the whole side.

Hello all

Its still pouring down low and looks to be falling as snow up high, but the freezing level has not dropped yet. It is calling for cooler weather for the next couple of days, so lets all keep hoping

I know most of you folks first ride is usually this weekend(Mine Too) but Im sorry to say that it is just not ready.

I will keep you updated as best as possible

Rode allen on tuesday the trail was very bad the snow up top was not bad. We found any where from 2 to 4 feet of snow. With a little effort we made it to the wall and little past. If you like your skis and skegs wait a little longer for more snow on the trail. No real trail snow till where the old and new trails meet. The pictures are one of the trail then the cabin and the skegs from the trail.

Are they doing anything different with keyhole this year.

Yeah, we are in the middle of building a trail from the Clemina staging area over to Keyhole via the pipeline. It has been a hard go to get the project under way, but it looks good and the riders should really enjoy it. I plan to do a big post of all VARDA's work over the summer and any changes, but I wanted to see the completion of this trail before I post.

Its slim out there folks, snowing like crazy up high as we speak, but still amounting to nothing down low. Here is a shot of the new Keyhole trail and the Allan parking lot and trail entrance as of 11am this morning. Notice the headlights of some sad sledders. They even unhooked the trailer and drove up a ways to find no snow yet.

I will do my best to keep you posted, but I am still saying that it is not ready yet. If it keeps snowing like this, it should be soon:d This time last year I was stuck in the snow in the back parking area:confused:

No dollies for us this weekend:) We are heading up tonight for a midnight ride then tackling the gravel to find the snow at Allen for the weekend. A worn out set up skiis and carbides is still better than a weekend at home staring at the sleds. No camera for me this weekend but I will let everyone know how it was up top when we are home on Monday.
