I have a Nuance baby grand spacial 3D home theater system that was purchased from International stereo about 6yrs ago when they were still around. Problem is the baby grand speakers have a built in powered sub and one of the amps is shot. About 1-1/2 yrs ago one of the speaker amps fried and it was changed out on warranty. Now the amp has fried on the other speaker and the outfit that bought out International stereo in Edmonton is no longer around. The speakers have a 10yr warranty on them and would like to get it fixed but can't find anyone in or around the Edmonton area who sells nuance. Anyone have any suggestions on where I might be able to get the amp fixed or even know of a nuance dealer in Alberta. I tried finding a website for Nuance but no luck there either, just come up with speakers for sale on kijji and chat forum topics.

BF if it's the building kiddie corner to the McDonalds and across from a vehicle repair shop on Argyll that store now is Com Free. That's where I took the first speaker for repair when the amp fried. They weren't the best to deal with on warranty issues with the Nuance speakers and gave a guy the "run around".

wow, 10 yr warranty? kick ass....I bought a set of the exact same speakers at a garage sale last summer, along with a 350 watt Technics 5.1 Dolby digital surround amp for the grand sum of...get this...$100. I think it was a good deal...:d

The overpriced Nuance speakers were exclusive to International Stereo. With their demise I imagine the nuance name followed them into hell.

Are there any contact details on the back of the speakers or warranty papers?

A few years ago, I was trying to get some work done on Nuance Speakers at International Stereo. They had my speakers for weeks with poor excuses every time I called them. I did some searching and found the CEO to Nuance in Markham, ON. I called George Baker, left a "sharp and to the point" message about the service, or lack of it at Int Stereeo with his product (Nuance). He called me back a couple a days later from Florida pissed off that I actually had the audacity to call him with my problem. I gave it right back to him on how his dealer back in Edmonton is not standing behind the Nuance and if he had any scruples, he would look into this ASAP or I would keep calling him every week until this gets settled. Well, guess what, the very next day, I got a call from the manager at Int Stereo and I had my speakers later that week. So I looked up my notes on this and here are a couple of numbers. I have no idea if they are still current. Let me know if this helps. GOOD LUCK

Hello Nuance lovers,

I was looking at my Dads Obituary when I saw your forums.

I am so sorry to say that the creator of Nuance, my father, passed away right after Christmas in his hotel room at the Edmonton Weston Hotel.

He was in the middle of opening a store there.

If you still want Nuance (once you have Nuance, you don't want anything else) you can try contacting his partner that is looking to still continue Nuance. I am not sure if it will still be "Nuance Audio. Corp." However the people that worked closely with my Dad, George Baker, want to continue Nuance.

Please contact Gerald for more information on what Canadian stores you can buy Nuance from. I know that there are stores that made orders in the last few months of his life, so they should still have some created by my father.

He dedicated his life to high quality home systems that would bring family's together and break though anyone's paradigms of what kind of quality entertainment they could have in their own living room. He believed that everyone should have, deserved to have, the best in their living rooms; that everyone deserved to live like billionaires, enjoying an experience like no other.

I miss him every moment of everyday as he was an amazing man and father, I am happy to know that his creation lives on in your homes.

Sorry, I didn't post the phone number to contact my Dad's partner in my last post.

For Nuance Speakers:

Call Gerald (780) 207-0476 and tell him that Ashley Baker, George's daughter sent you.

Good luck.

Brought my speaker amp to A1 electronics today and he did what he could to try and fix it but he cross checked #'s on the circutry and no parts are available. So I thought why not just run all 4 subs off the one good amp? Works great! Rattles the closet doors and dims the lights! Just thought I'd mention this for other's with the Amp problem.:d

Oh my god finally I've got some info on what to do with these damn speakers..."blew a fuse" the service guy said but I can't get any fuse to work in the speaker. I blew my fuse on the salesman in the store when it was International...giving me the same old runaround with warranty.
I have had nothing but problems with International Stereo from the word go, as for Nuance they were NO HELP WHATSOEVER. I went so far as to report International to the Better Business Bureau, they kind of chuckled and said they would add it to their file of complaints for International Stereo.
I also contacted Mr. Baker and every other person at Nuance that had their e-mail listed on the website...Another lacklustre performance on their part in doing anything to help me enjoy their "most reputable" product.
If i ever see anybody looking at this brand speaker(or any related brand spinoff) I will stop them dead in their tracks and give them the whole story on this SHOTTY company.

P.S. I am sorry for your loss Ashley, I mean no disrespect to the memory of your father. I just don't trust anything associated with the name Nuance...and probably never will. I think it is a funny coincidence that as soon as Nuance gets some bad publicity somewhere, soembody pops out of the wood work to defend the company name.
Jesus these damn speakers got me all fired up again, dammit:realmad:

Yeah you said it Bubs. I am going on a hunt now to see if i can buy an amp from another speaker that is actually being sold right now. Get rid of this n-300 amp crap on the back of my speakers. Least i can get parts if they blow up. Try to get some pioneer amps cause i have never had problems with pioneer (Vechical or home equipment). If i find any thing that works for a good price, i will post it for an option for you guys.
