What you need to do is check the pickup coil and thats easy.
You will need an analog volt meter.
You need to go to the wiring harness connector that goes into the engine mag. then find the connector that the pickup coil is plugged into.
Connect your meter to the wire from the coil and gently rotate the engine crank in either direction, doesn't matter.
The needle on the meter should move, like bounce. If it doesn't the coil is pooched.
If it does move then the CDI maybe the issue.
Hope that helps and makes sense.

pick up coil acts like the old points in the old ignition systems. It generates a pulse as athe magnet in the stator passes by.

If you have a single coil and have spark on one side, the stator and cdi are most likely fine. That ign coil sparks every time on both sides one piston firing the other is down. Have you tried taking the plug wires off the coil and swapping sides to see if the mag side sparks? Did you meter the coil ? Remember its just 2 coils of wire they are either connected or not. If one side sparks I would be looking at the coil and wires, I did read you changed them but in our new world I see more failures of new parts than I have ever seen before. Remember the multimeter is your friend good luck !
