Well when I switched to CAT the dealer told me that Textron was gonna tighten up the market so their used sled were worth something.

Cat just announced deep discounts on their 2019's including the alpha.

Saw a 2019 mountain cat on Kijiji for $13,300 + tax ,granted only with a 1year warrenty but still.

Compounding the issue everyone in Alberta is broke now a days, tough finding anyone with cash to buy used iron.

So WTF. .

Or is CAT announcing something big soon?

18s has good deals too under $12k cad out the door. I wouldn’t spring order sleds unless it’s like Polaris where u can only get the bigger 850 motor as an option.

The only drawback is CAT only offers a 1 year warranty for in season sleds.

Saw an 18 mountain cat 153 at Argyll for $10,500......

They are not releasing that to the public from the looks of it. But some dealers are offering $3k off list.

i imagine a few dealers ordered a couple extra, or guys backed out on them. Dealers around home usually order a extra or 2 snow checks everyyear

That’s really good pricing. Snowchecking vs in season is just a matter of if you want a longer warranty or a better price.

Make some calls in these so called 10,500-11,000 18 Mountain cats, advertising has definitely got ya, when you don’t add freight, psi and tax everything seems cheaper, still around 13,000 for an 18, just talked to my salesman, as cheap as it gets with the rebates

I’m more of a skidoo guy but completely agree on the ‘no point spring booking comment’. All the manufacturers offer “extended warranty” options on the snow checks but they are pretty hesitant to tell people that that’s actually not manufacturers warranty, its a third party provider and they will charge $50 deductible and many things that you would expect to be warrantied are not covered. (Wiring harness on skidoo 850 for example) I realize that all this info is written in fine print somewhere when you buy the sled but they really don’t make it well known at the time of snow check.

In my opinion the “extended warranties” are somewhat of a scam and I’d take a cash discount any day instead after having dealt with trying to have issues fixed under the extended warranty.

The only real benefit I see to snowchecking is being able to choose your colours/options with the manufacturers that offer those but in reality if you look hard enough you can probably find a dealer selling the sled you want at a much cheaper price if you wait to buy.

Cat stopped using third party for their extended warranties. I specifically asked when I bought my sled because I got burned on some of the ‘exclusions’. Don’t know if that applies to additional warranty you can buy, but it is all factory on the original sale.

Well 10,500 with 600 freight/pdi plus gst is under 12k out the door. Should be no other costs.

Lots of guys that want 8-9k for a used 16... throw 3k on top and you can get a brand new one with warranty ect. Can kinda understand them tho, snowcheck a sled for 17k and sell 2 years later for way less than half of what you paid. Kinda like the 850s, 18k new... can find 2017s for 9k already. Just wait till spring/summer.

Well guys it ain't easy being green. I personally think Cat might have their pricing right and the others are charging too much. You are buying a toy to be enjoyed not an annuity. A bargain up front is a good thing.

I always say, snow check should be a deeply discounted price ...it’s bs these programs they have going on. Guy waits till January (when the snow is actually ok) buy one at a discount. Last sled I snow checked was a 1997 summit 670.
