How long ago did all this happen and what Cabela's did you return the scope to? Not sure if Nikon can get the scope to check it out or not. Like I said, I have 3 and have over 1000 round's under all of them.

I bought online. Ordered feb 4. Mounted it couple days later. Took to the range this last Sunday. Returned it to north side cabelas in Edmonton. Told them the issue so hopefully it wouldn’t end up being sold to someone else. Box had been opened when I got it so I think that may have happened to me. Hopefully it is an isolated incident but I won’t buy another Nikon and take the risk. The only Leupold I’d had was a range finder. Worked well and glass was nice. Their new scopes they just released look good and get good feedback.

Get a bushnell or a night force if you want quality, I had a Nikon on my 7mm Rem mag, and it would hit perfect than fling the next two shots thought it was the ammo tried different stuff, took it back and they put it on an a dummy Gun and smacked the stock on the floor and the reticles were loose inside the scope, so I upgraded to a bushnell

I have always had good luck with the 5 or 6 bushnell scopes I have had. All but one were/are the tactical series. I am intrigued by the new high end ones they have but in the price range id go night force or Leupold. To me bushnell has always seemed like the good reliable low-mid range scope that doesn't cost a fortune.

I wish I had the cash to pick up what ever scope and rings I wanted right now but need to by new tires, rebuild a sxs engine, repair a jeep, house repairs etc etc lol. I put the vortex red dot back on so I can shoot the rifle and will pick something up again when I find that smoking deal I can't pass up between all this other stuff.
