Hello

I am new to the world of quadding.....I borrowed a friends Polaris Sportsman 550 (i think maybe 2009 or 2010 model year) and it was a lot of fun.

Im now looking at buying my first quad (or trading my offroad truck for one) ...and would love to hear opinions on various quads in the $3500-5000 range . I would be using it for a combination of trails and nice water/muddy holes haha.

Are there certain quads where maintenance and mods are easier to do than others? I imagine having nice easy access to the radiator to clean up after a muddy run would be nice. I imagine a snorkel would be a great idea too.....are some quads more difiicult to do this? what about ground clearance?

Anyways, Im from Edmonton Alberta, Im 41 yrs old, and would appreciate ANY advice as im totally new to atvs.

Thank you

Increase your budget and go with a can am. If you can't I suggest a grizzly 700 or 550 WITH POWER STEERING. Make sure you get power steering. Have I mentioned the power steering????

At 41 yrs old get power steering...
I’’m young and don’t “need” power steering, have had both and choose more beer money & enjoy the shoulder workout...
I keep saying next machine will be power steering so we’ll see...

My two cents. Polaris is the number one selling ATV in the world. I would not buy a F.cking thing from Bombardier(Quebec made) Buy anything but Can Am..

My tongue in cheek statement was in response to the post above mine, Droolin....

I personally couldn't give a crap what anyone buys/likes/rides....asking an open forum what to buy is a waste of time as everyone has the best machine. Opinions are like............................

Yup, lol, I may not agree with you dave, But asking on a open forum what is best is like asking if putting 2 yamahas on a 2 place deck on a 1/2 ton is ok! Lol

Go out and ride be happy

Get used to riding the old cheap non power steering quad because I bet your wife is not gonna want to get off the shiny new power steering quad...
