I’ve got 1200km on original.... changing the belt this year. Haven’t had any issues with belts. I have changed the secondary rollers to hi-torque, but still trying to figure why there going flat.

I blew a belt at 1000 kms, 2 other riding buddies right around the same kms as well. I am still on my factory secondary rollers, have some high torque rollers on order.

I got 1200km out of mine before i changed it. Never blown one just changed it as a precaution. The current belt has about 5-600km now on it and will run it till i hit about 1000km.
I did hear similar rumors that some blew belts but i have not experience that, it could be riding style too.

BTW on my second set of Yamaha rollers and will most likely switch to high torque next go around.

Debated starting a thread or jumping into one so tell me to flock off if Appropriate. LOL

my sled’s a 2017 with a lot of the same mods as this sweet red one - love the big yammy decal on the tunnel bro!

Performance wise, running a CR Resonator muffler and updated the cowl air intakes to the 2018 style, no flash or anything. It’s obviously making some more power as it bangs the rev limiter more often than before. What do the gurus think would be a good clutching move for me? Throw a couple grams at the primary and go? Thanks fellas.

BTW....my whole riding group calls it the grizzly bear from the sound..LOL.

I had this sled out in revy this past weekend. Stock clutching seemed good. Was revving at 8800-8900 when I had a chance to look. Never did any good pulls due to areas we rode and then bad visibility. Did notice one roller already has a flat spot. Sled has 275km on it so that’s is disappointing considering one reason I went with a Yamaha is for the reliable motor/clutches. That said, keep running Yamaha rollers or go to aftermarket? Or Cat torlon? Has there been a definitive answer as to why these rollers are failing so soon?(machining/tolerance issues in secondary parts?). Also, this gas rack I have is terrible. Going to cut the tabs off and use the linq can I think. What’s the best linq adapters to use?

Have High Torque rollers ordered. Also going to swap to 8LR00 loaded with steel 4.5g rivets, and put secondary spring at 3-3. Put on a few more miles on and rpm was over 9K most of the time. Have the Linq adapters ordered from Canada Sled Parts too, have bought steering posts from them before and really happy with the products. Clutch weights had to be ordered, but am loading the tip of the stock MTX weights this weekend to try it out that way first. Anybody have trouble with the heated grips on these as well. My left one doesn’t work, checked all wiring so think it’s the elements themselves.

Have more seat time on this sled and really like it. Punched into Area 51 south of Revy right after a good storm last weekend and got a good mix of trees, meadows and alpine riding. Around that elevation (Gauge shows 7200-7500 alpine) the Sidewinder was revving at 8100. Currently running the MTX weights loaded up with the heavy rivets which scale out at around 59g IIRC. Even leaving 7-800rpm on the table this thing is a blast, but will have to drop clutch weight and see what it does when its dialed in closer.

On another note, when the sled starts getting a bit lower on fuel, if I park pointing downhill, sometimes it will just crank over and you have to actually level it out before it starts. Is the fuel pickup in the rear part of the tank only? And definitely going to look at getting rid of the TORS because every day this thing is in deep powder, pretty sure the switch in the throttle block is freezing up because I get the SD 84 code intermittently.

iv had my sled vapor lock a couple times. first time it really had me worried. but seems to happen mostly at the end of the day close to E when I back up the hill into the driveway and its pointed down hill. I usually shut it off well I get the shop open then it wont start. pop the cap off and you can hear it suck air. may just be my sled but worth a try.
