You’ll see chuky, we’ll be sledding buddies yet!

Could very likely happen.
Snow in a couple months.

Well enough snow at the farm for a quick rip if someone wanted.
I winterized boat and trailer and back to work today but about 5-6" this morning.

But I draw the line at Daggy!

Sure looks like the same new gauge cluster, looks like MC colors though but same gauges as Alpha.
If so Cat is being proactive, they don't even burn belts.
That is proven to be strictly doo territory.

Sure would have been handy on my POS 17 Doo though.

Man am I glad I jumped ship, Doo really falling behind on real tecknowledgy.

Maybe Cat did not add this feature to show how hot the belt is, they may have added to show how cold it is!

Im curious as to why yah think a belt temp gauge would help, especially on a doo. The 850 gauge is hard enough to read at the best of times. I highly doubt it will be as linear in its readout like a Jacket water temp, due to the design of the thermal eye.

I remember the days of smoking hot xp clutches, a xp and xm rarely blew to pieces like the 850, even with the xps short jackshaft it still, pitched cords.
Not all 850’s were belt blowers like yours either, leads me to believe theres a quality control issue or setup problem.
Shold be trouble free wobbly sledding.

Im not trying to discredit your beliefs, I just know the “false positives” of thermal devices.

Knowing belt temp would let you know if high temps are adding to the issue if you had a belt blower.
With all the effort to cool the clutches heat is admittadly an issue.

I had stated earlier readable gauges would be needed also.
Temp gauge would do nothing for bad shimming, three wrong durometer motor mounts (4 would not torque the motor so bad). Gearing change was just to keep sled running under less load - reduce torquing misalignment.
These items were likely the cause of the grenading belts. Hot belt will grenade sooner-would have provided a piece of the puzzle - maybe some warning.
Wobble clutch - continuous belt scrubbing if c to c of clutches is continually changing. Temp gauge would have done nothing for this - P85 needed for this issue. Nobody wants to talk about where the heat comes from....only how to evac excess heat...strange.

Moral of the storey - temp Guage might have given some warning that you are about to spend $200 again. Take a 10 min break. No other purpose really.

For the vast majority that had no issue the temp gauge would indeed be useless.
Don't think there will be issues in 19 with all the cooling effort applied to get rid of excess heat.

And is the temp gauge even real or just a fishing item for a mini war?

Read what I wrote.
Doo needs some real gauges with belt temp tech......big enough to read.
Those are definatly Cat gauges and look like the new for 19 set on an MC.
Sheeesh man you got doolaid issues.
Glad I devorced your kind!!!

And how are those push button adjust on the fly Doo shocks working.

LMFAO......WHAT A PUTZ.

So you are the typical nightmare following a divorce. I cannot imagine the poor soul having to suffer the constant barrage of criticism and indignation. Has anyone ever told you that they would rather die than suffer that kind of abuse?

Wouldn't it be easier to spend an hour to cure the belt blower?

Not sure what the problem is with a belt temp gauge. You have no time to read it while climbing. Reach the top, take one second to swipe the gauge of snow and read the temp to confirm everything is good from the work you did to prevent any problems. It's about 0.001 percent of the total time it takes for Cat owners to write and Ski-Doo owners to read these essays :p Carry on lol

Question.

Say if the snow is deep.
And the snow well fills up with snow.
How does the heat get out?

If you get the belt temp hot enough and a strong enough vortex, then it will melt/blow the snow away??? :p

Given that you Cat guys write all these fancy essays on the engineering aspect of mountain riding, I figure after two years you'd have a brainiac solution to this

Sounds like a recipe for a cold wet left foot.

My first hot left foot was the RT with the vortex on the primary. I removed the plastic air duct like everyone was telling me to do. It raised the belt temp but it did cure the hot left foot lol

1) Use 4 motor mounts
2) Ditch the wobbly clutch
3) Up the bulkhead strength
4) Lower the A arm strength
These have been common knowledge since January 2017

BRP will band aid the sled(gear down, various venting)..........to actually fix the issue (especially#2) would mean admitting fault. That will never ever happen with BRP. (Arrogance and could be liable for recall)

If actually fixed and not bandaided the G4 would be greatset sled out there.....might even buy one again.

My hemi only has 2 motor mounts, surely skidoo can make 3 work:confused:

I really think the 19 is going to be a good unit.
Time will tell I guess...

Does your hemi make 170hp from 850cc and sit at 8000rpm all day?

Alittle difference in torque rotational forces between a pickup driveline, and a sleds driveline.

The problem isnt 3 or 4 or 10 it was that there was play in them. If they are solid, 3mounts should be fine.

engineering types out there, what is more rigid a square or a triangle?
