if your in Mayerthorpe you should do some local job hunting Joey. Whitecourt is booming and the companies in town pay a premium for guys. I couldn't find anyone who would work for less that 25/hr and the guys I tried out sure to hell weren't worth it. there are lots of oil field companies, and lots of companies running equipment in the local oil field. no need to go to the ft. mac.

Honestly man and don't take offence to this, with your issues you struggle with ft. mac camp life would eat you alive. there are lots of guys looking for help in whitecourt. JT enterprises was looking, (awesome bunch of guys) e-construction was looking, and a few others. I just don't see you lasting up in camp life....

I appreciate the advice and take no offence to it. but this is a very high class company willing to train me and offer me a career, I cant just pass up an opportunity like that, even if I find out you are right, at least I tried, and if it does work out I will have a great job. i'm sick of these small town guys that treat you like crap and take money off your checks (yupp happened in GP) I want to work for a big company so I can actually see my pay checks

lol...big companies are no better, the trick is to find a happy median company. fly by night one man operations are deff. not the way to go. it also doesn't matter how high class a company is, its how high class their camp employees are. it can be a rough group to get in with and they will be hard on you. and as stated above, up there I would keep your feelings and views to yourelf. at least until you work up a good relationship with your co-workers.

if your check is supposed to be $1800 after taxes and you get it and its only got $700 something is wrong, then your foreman is missing $2600 off his, something is very wrong

lol on the last part, I never witness to anyone until I have a strong relationship with them, and if they push me away I change the subject. I will give it a shot and see how it goes
