so was he running scratchers ?

Again. Don't know the guy or Dave or riderz. Have zero connection to anyone just stating some facts for others. You can run low consistent operating temps with no snowflap. No problem. No clue what this guy was running but obviously not scratchers if it had a bunch of overheat codes

Maxwell you enjoy arguing as much as me eh !! With scratchers down you be allright. Up top in snow take flap off and use for hat you be fine.On anything hard no scratchers **** heating up fast! Obviously if he had heat codes something was sideways. Maybe in the previous heat up cycles he damaged piston enough to start the damage. It seems a little odd everyone else who follows the guidelines still going?? Hmmm odd!

This is one 872E that sucked in so much snow it would hardly run.Cleaned all the water out and cleared codes and sent him on his way . 3 Pulls and it still had 160 psi on both cylinders My buddy still running it today 1300km later.... THESE MOTORS ARE TUFF Best rings and piston I've ever seen.

I believe 75% was steam he planted it into a slush filled creek. The air boxes were full of moisture as well.... ?

I can see a four corner by not letting it warm or getting a shot of cold but at what coolant temperature do these things stick?

sled has scratchers, snow flap is trimmed and was trimmed before kit was installed, and apparently someone one here other then me got to see my parts before they were shipped away against my request to see them before they left the shop. interesting.

Just to be clear, I was at the shop helping out with clutching a sled that day, and saw it on the bench I was working on.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to give you an update on my situation with Riderz Edson and my Trygstad etec. I decided to take it upon myself to show up unannounced Friday morning to take care of the issue. Upon arrival Jason was back hard at work (for those of you who don’t know Jason was the person I was dealing with from day 1. He has been absent due to trying to stop some sled thieves from taking his property and was injured during the event. Looks like he’s recovering good, unfortunately from what he told me not all of his property was accounted for and the theif went missing is the bush….. Jason says he ran away… but there always the possibility an industrial sized can of whoop a** was opened back there, we’ll never know). Anyways back on topic, Jason and I had a sit down ( quite a timely one might I add) during this discussion the conclusion was there was some complacency issues on their end that he was sure to address and understandably I on my end there was aggravation and over reaction, we had hashed out our concern’s on both ends and resolved our issues to both our satisfactions.

During the meeting it was mentioned that my sled was actually put back together, running , and ready to go home for another shot at getting broken in. We had talked about what caused this whole ordeal in regards to the motor piling up, we had discussed what exactly Dave Trygstad had worked his magic on his end and had taken a minute amount of clearance out of the engine so break in would be easier to get through. Jason had explained to me more on the clutching upgrade I have as I still can’t wrap my head around the concept, and had explained that he had made a minor mistake and gave me a little to much pin weight and had told me to get through the break in and he would deal with that after the fact. Good news for all my riding buddies on here, after my break in is complete ill be back to the hills to try enjoy what is left of the season. Jason had explained that he was covering the his end of the bill and all he wants me to cover was the 400$ bill to cover Dave’s work on the cylinders. Shocked upon hearing this information I was impressed, arriving expecting the worst completely threw me off balance. Jason had explained to me he was going to take care of me from the beginning and he was going to continue to take care of me as long as I come to him for all my needs more than fair in my books. During the discussion we had, I had come to the conclusion that in fact Jason is not only a fair, stand-up guy. He also has a wealth of knowledge which he shares freely (provided you actually take the time to speak with him and provided he has the time to answer all your questions which can at time be hard to arrange).
To those of you who listened to my plight and traveled though my frustrations with me, I would like to thank you as well and tell you the my relationship with Jason ( Riderz) is intact. They were my initial choice when I decided to go down the modification road, due to our history my conclusion is to continue giving them my business.
