It's flashing and I have taken the belt housing off and the belt is not torn so I figure it's lose but I am done messing with bc I am taking it to the shops tomorrow to have the rear axel rebooted anyways so might as well have the belt tightened or whatever and maybe have the limp mode bypassed

Kawasaki Belt light reset for 650/750 Brute Force Fri Aug 15, 2008 7:52 am

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"the reset procedure is similar to 650 700. Unplug 2 pin conector going to belt switch. Unplug black conector under seat , unplug white conector beside it ( white plug is a reset plug which has no wires conected to it from machine) Plug reset plug into black plug turn key to on , turn off. plug everything back to stock. You are done."

1) remove seat, unplug black and grey 4-pin connectors
2) swap plugs, grey to black and black to grey
3) turn on ignition switch, belt light should be flashing quickly
4) disconnect 2-pin belt switch above torque converter cover, belt light should be flashing slowly
5) let flash for at least 5 seconds
6) turn off ignition switch
7) reconnect 4-pin connectors black to black and grey to grey, reconnect 2-pin belt switch
turn on ignition switch to confirm belt light is out

Here is how it is done.

Also if you go to napa or any car parts place you can order a CV boot for a 1990 Suzuki swift and it will fit and is thicker. The cost was less than $20 and came with clamps/ grease. The kawi one I think was close to 60 just for the boot. I also get my oil filters from NAPA $4 cheaper and it is the exact same, I have the NAPA # if any one needs it

Well I'm taking it the shop tomorrow to have the belt adjusted and the boot replaced. I'm getting a hell of a deal on it bc I know the guy and he is going to go throughout the bike and make sure nothing else is wrong with it. But what do you think I should do get the bike jetted or put the big gun Evo head exaust piece on it. It has an exaust leak on the bike where the guy put the evo on it with out buying the head peice

Has the bike been jetted since the pipe has been put on? If it hasn't you might have to. You could always do a plug check to see where she is running.

Ok well now I have a much bigger problem. I took it to the shop today and it was smoking when I started it up. Well it did that the day after i bought it but after it runs for a few min it quits. Well the guy at the shop said that to him he thanks the motor has to be rebuilt. The guy i bought it from said that he had the motor rebuilt 25 hours ago. So i dont know what to do. I dont want to have to put another 2000 in the bike and it just be a money pit. So idk if i should have the motor rebuilt or rebuild it myself or if thats even it or if it could be something else. Any help?

If it smells sweet and the smoke is white instead of blue, you are burning antifreeze. It might be a head gasket then.

Ok well I am going to tear into it today and look at the heads and the gaskets and see what it is. So if it the gaskets or the head where should I buy them from that has good parts but not going to kill me on price

For cheap parts got Kawasakiusa.com, I got the parts for my front diff there. The dealers wanted $ 760 with out GST and I got them there for $406 all said and done with shipping.

Ok well I pulled the top end apart today and it's the front head. I am refinishing the head and also checking the cylinders to make sure they are still good. Is there anything else that I should go ahead and replace while I have the motor out. And also I have to get a new rear drive shaft the whole assembly
