Ok today I just went out and bought a 05 brute 750. Where I met the guy to look at it i couldnt get on the gas. Well I got it home and took it off the trailer and tried to get on the trottle. Well it acts like it doesnt want to go over 15 and it starts sputtering and back fireing a little bit. Well when I met the guy he told me that the rear boot was broke ok thats no problem. The motor was just rebuilt has 25 hours on it and he had wiseco pistons put in it. Well it also has an exaust leak right by the big gun exaust was put on. It also has snorkles on it which he used 1 1/2 pvc. Well idk what to do so any help would be great.

did you drive it before you bot it, and it was fine, or just revved it up. After you started it and it ran you shut it off. now that it has sat for awhile try it again, the fuel may be there this time, I know it sounds stupid but I'm not there to fix it, what happened now?

Fresh gas would be a start, also I think snorkels should be 2" diameter, maybe it needs tuning

Is it efi or carb?

is it the air box that is snorkeled or cvt, it should still rev up, and tighten up the exhaust just to eliminate a problem, you have check all the fluids right. If he did the engine repair him self maybe the throttle positioning sensor is out of adjustment, need more info to help u out

havent been able to drive it since the last time its not with me rightnow ill try it tomrrow adn ill let you know. I did drive it but where we were at didnt have the room to get it over 10 and it wasnt doing what its doing. I think the the snorkle is cvt because it has three tubes not just one. I dont know that much about working on four wheeles which is the problem i am running into.

It is also carb

I also dont know what i need to be tunning and also i am going to start working on it tomorrow afternoon bc i have to pull the rear axle out to have it rebooted

Your gonna need to get a jet kit and tune the carbs properly. Thats what i did to my brute, I also used 2" abs for my snorkels.

Make sure its not just a simple limp home mode. Could of went on while the guy did upgrades. Easy to check. Sounds like what happened to my quad.

Would I be better off taking it to someone to do it bc I really don't know what I am doing. Or I mean what else can I do

I'd find a service manual for it. It's a great reference. I got one for my machine off ebay for 10-15 bucks worth every penny gives you all the schematics and step by step tear down directions

or you can go to mudinmyblood.com, sign up to be a member and for $7.99 you can download the full repair manuals for almost any machine. If the file wasn't so big I would email it to you.

Tightening the belt or shimming it is fairly easy but make sure you have a primary clutch tool and a secondary spring compressor to do the job easy. Also the primary clutch main bolt is left hand thread.

I mean I really don't know what I should do. I have been thinking about just taking it to a shop bc I don't have all of those tools to do the belt. But do you think that could be the problem with the bike when I try and accerate and it dossnt want to go over ten and acts like it may be starving for gas, ba gas, or maybe the belt. I called the kaw dealer and they said it could be the belt. If i put it in the shop I'm just going to go ahead and just jet it also.

If it won't go over ten I would say it is definitaly in limp mode. I am not sure how to reset or check but if you go to Kawieriders.com and either search or post someone there will have an answer to the problem. I know if the belt came apart it would trip the belt switch but your belt light should be on as well if that happened.

Not saying this will work but try and disconnect the battery and it may reset it self, give 2 min. it may be that easy. The belt is not going to stop u from going over 10km, it most likely to do with the clutches, but I would try an rest the computer first. does it not want to rev up , even with the tires off the ground, jack it up. check the air box, then check and make sure the carb or efi is tight and no air leaks. give more info.

I called Kawi and they said it most likely is the belt bc the computer has a sensor just like a car if it thanks something is wrong it will limit the motor where it doesn't get tore up

Like i said at the start of the post, it is limp mode thats causing your problem. does the red light flash or just a solid light? if it flashes then its in limp mode and if its solid it means 100 hours for service is due.
