I went through the trouble of trying to comment on this article and CBC pulled all of the comments. I think they were getting a fair amount of critizism on the article being one sided.

Didn't pull the article though!

Im still taking this as a win .....Its the first article ive read about us thats not saying

"Snowmobilers cause avalanche"
"Snowmobiler dies do to careless riding"
"Highmarking kills"
"Reckless snowmobilers are to blame for injuries and deaths"

I know its not praise but its not slander either, i for one think its a step in the right direction between the media and sledders.

Here's a thought that hit me recently. What if the cats on sleds showed up and were accosted by the people who skiied in? If those springs are the same ones I am thinking of, there is friction between motorised and non-motorised access. Perhaps ski dudes called out the sled dudes, got whooped then played the gay bashing card.

Not to say thats what happened, or defend homophobs, but it is a possibility. Granted, if that were true, Im sure the sled dude would be sounding off to that effect, which leads me to believe they were homophobs and went through with the beating for that reason.

yeah that's happened before, not totally foreign territory, skiers could have been beaking about the sledders using access, especially if they think they were going to have a nice romantic evening at the hot springs, all alone with their boyfriend, boom, two sleds show up and ruin your fun, they might have been a little pissed. The article only paints one half of the picture though, would be interesting to hear both sides of the story. Since there were some other witnesses from the sledders side as well.
