No practices today in the Monster Energy Cup Series as rain was the flavor of the day. The Xfinity race ran later this evening after an 8 hour rain delay. Race tomorrow has been moved up to 1 pm est sharp as rain is in the forecast again for late afternoon.

Barney Visser, owner of Furniture Row Racing announced this morning that because of a lack of sponsorship they will not be fielding the 77 car in the Monster Energy Cup Series next season. This seat became vacant when Eric Jones jumped to the 20 car of Joe Gibbs Racing for the 2018 season that Matt Kenseth campaigned for a few years. No word on what happens to their Charter for next season.

They said no less than 23 cars lost practice time yesterday because of pretech laser inspection from the Charlotte and Dover races. Apparently lots of teams are pushing the limits on templates
