Well that didn't take long. Roush Fenway announced today they are parting ways with Matt Kenseth at the end of this current year and that Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will be the driver of that car next season. Blah blah blah they still love each other but sponsorship has been an issue for Kenseth who is the polar opposite of Kurt Busch who also suffers sponsorship woes for good reason. Apparently nice guys don't attract sponsors.Anyway it appears Kenseth will be going to Joe Gibbs Racing to replace Joey Logano or start up a 4th team. Jamie Allison of Ford Racing has pretty much given up that Kenseth will race for another Ford team like Penske next year. Its a sad day for me as I guess I will be shopping for a new Ford driver to follow next season. Anybody need any Kenseth souvenier stuff?

Hey what happened to Carl Edwards this year Snopro?

He appears to be suffering from the same ailment as Denny Hamlin did 2 years ago after finishing second to Johnson. He is getting the same equipment as Biffle and Kenseth but is not clicking for whatever reason. Hopefully he gets it together before the end of the regular season or the Chase won't be in the cards for him this year.

Actually nascar.com has an online pole on where everyone thinks Kenseth will end up and so far Stewart/Haas is leading. There may be a spot there as Tony and Matt are friends and Newman may be moving.

Kenseth on nascar race hub tonight. He has signed with a team for 2013 and beyond. Announcement in the future. Whos getting punted? Allmendinger? Logano? Newman? Truex Jr? All are in last years of contract. I think Gibbs. Hamlin says he would welcome Matt to Gibbs with open arms. Hmmmmmm....

I was gonna ask you about that or childress. What do you think? Although stewart and kenseth go back aways, either spot would be fine with me.

Theres a concept..... all the race fans (or most race fans) want to see old school racing right? Its not like there are more cars running the race then did back in 1999 or so. But what they do have is more money invested to run the race, thus taking extra sponsor dollars. Instead of thinking you need the state of the art test center, engineers, blah blah blah. Reduce your budget around the shop, bring some new sponsors back to the track and ask them to pay alot less than currently. Fans would be happy, owners would have less risk, nascar would get better publicity, and racing.would be exciting again.

What do you think?

The teams are there own worst enemies. The COT was supposed to make the sport cheaper. Not sure it did. They will spend every dollar they get to go faster. The economy has got to come around but the price of sponsorship goes up to. Hardly anyone has a full year deal anymore. Edwards has 4-5 to get through the year. I thought Ford was forking in for Kenseth with the ecoboost scheme but no dice. Roush is paying the way out of pocket so the car won't be blank. Free advertising for Ford. Your right Zeebers but how are you gonna get the teams to play fair?

Wouldn't it be nice to see Tide, Crown Royal, Ford Credit, Goodwrench, STP and a few like that back in the sport?

Exactly NASCAR doesnt want a black eye for policing that kind of stuff.

Sure would be nice to have some of those sponsors back that made the sport so famous in the first place.
