what's Ford doing that makes them seem so much faster? weird seeing those Hendrick cars being mediocre.

Ford has another year of massaging a proven chassis where Chevy is running a brand new chassis with the Camaro this year. Ford will introduce the new Mustang chassis next year and may have growing pains just as Chevy is this year. It is also widely agreed on that Roush/Yates makes the most HP in the series as well. In other words the Fords are handling better on the straightaways.

The penalty police were on the job today handing out penalties to the 3 Gibbs cars that violated the splitter rule last weekend in Michigan. The 18,11 and 20 cars all had their crewchiefs fined $25,000 and their car chiefs banned from the next race in 2 weeks at Sonoma.

Matt Kenseth announced today he will be back for 10 extra races this year at Roush. Car is slowly getting faster each week with him giving input to the 6 car engineers. Trevor Bayne will be piloting the car in 2 weeks at Sonoma.

Road courses show off a complete different set of skills. Downshifting, braking and tire management - I just find it interesting seeing different drivers who have great road race skills do well. There seems to be a lot more aggression and passion in the last while with road races, makes me enjoy them even more now but have to admit i have always loved them but that's partly due to the fact i love watching open wheel racing too. Most importantly it seems that the whole aero issue goes away and cars can actually pass each other if they are faster.
