Danica announces today Nature's Bakery is her new primary sponsor for 2016. They will do a 28 race deal. Also SHR announces Danica resign's for another term with the race team. Say what you want she is good for NASCAR imo.

Silly Season breaks big news today. Michael Waltrip Racing announces today they will be stepping back from a full race schedule and have given Clint Bowyer permission to look at other options for 2016. Early reports have Bowyer taking sponsor to Furniture Row Racing to team with Truex Jr. or Chip Gannassi to join that stable. Bowyer is good friends with both Truex and Jamie McMurray. MWR will continue to field both cars for the remainder of this season.

That sucks, had a lot of respect for the MWR operation after visiting a few years ago.

Jayskis now reporting that Clint Bowyer is not going to Chip Gannassi racing but may in fact go to a filler team for 2016 and is rumored to take Tony Stewarts ride at SHR for 2017. Stewart is 44 years old and is struggling to keep up and is thinking of going to a full time owner role after next season. Makes for interesting conversation doesn't it?

Nascar is not issuing any penalties to Penske cars over spoilergate. Apparently everything was OK. However Both the 2 and the 88 car will lose some practice time in Bristol this weekend for having to go through pre race tech twice last weekend in Michigan.

1st practice over at Bristol: 42-20-18-15-19-9-4-41-2-11. Doesn't appear a shorter track is slowing down JGR.

Rob Kauffman spoke to the media today and said MWR will shut down after this season. As he was the only moneyman in the company and sole decision maker he is ceasing business at that time. Apparently Michael Waltrips sole source of income is from his TV broadcasting and really the name of the company is his only tie to the race team. Clint Bowyer will not be going to CGN next year as they have said they will only be running a 2 car team so that is now ruled out. Bowyer has said he will have an announcement in the coming weeks as things start to come together. Stay tuned!

Been there 14 years in a row now and booked again already for the fall race. Great race. Traffic is handled way better than Vegas or Daytona. You can see the cars well as its a smaller track and its a great set up race for the finale in Homestead.

Here's your starting lineup for the race tomorrow night at Bristol: 11-18-19-55-22-2-4-17-15-48. Congrats to Denny Hamlin who set a new track record to sit on the pole.
