We were "First Nations" and smoked many peace pipes.
Then along came christianity, and sum of us conformed, most of us stuck to our traditions and beliefs.

I have a aunt & uncle that are christian. They are the only ones in the whole fam that are christians(reborn?)

Sorry for the "indian" word. As a kid growing up around many "first nations people" they did not want to be called that. They were indians and proud of it.

no it was not the first religion in canada. the first religion was that of the native people. our ansestors came here and cramed our beliefes down the natives throughts. and when they didn't accept it our ansestors killed the native people, segridated them, and made them live on reserves.

i will not get into my true opinion of natives as a people just that i will state that i do have a few native friends

It was hard to accept ur ancestors back then, we didnt speak english.
It was starvation and sickness that killed off aboriginal peoples, and sum white on brown violence. We were forced to live on reserves because of the treaties, and endured christian residential schools, where we were forced to speak english, not our native tongue, and conform to christian beliefs.
Sadly sum where molested, beaten, starved.........

religion is the CAUSE of 99% of all wars :realmad: think how many lives would have been saved if there was no religion OR better yet just one.

The way i look at it is i believe what im gonna believe; your gonna believe what your gonna believe(so on and so forth). as long as you don't try to cram it down my throut i dont mind what you believe, it doesn't bother me. Theres nothing i hate more then a bunch of jahovas witness banging on my door preaching there opinion.
I get a kick out of the people from asia comming to my home going on about christyanity (i am a anglician) corect me if im wrong but what happend to the religion they(asions) believed in. some christian must have cramed it down their thout when they moved to canada. pretty bad someone moves to canada and the first person they meet is some religious nut at there door talking about religion. most of them haven't learned (or never will) our language but boy they know our religion.

when i want to hear about religion i'll go to church. which is one day a year and thats on the day jesus was born.

rant over for now

Hey, no problems. Thats what bein first nations is all about- being proud of who u are, where u came from.

Bear with me here----
This is my view on what to call us brownskins.

Indians-- the bad ones, u know what i mean.( but some east indians call themselves indians,??????)

First nations, Aboriginals-- the good ones

I consider my self to be F.N. or Abor.
You'd never think im a brownie, till i whip out my bow and arrow card.

Now that we have everyones views on religion, we should start breaking them down...

Say catholic vs prodestant vs united vs mormon...

Now that could be interesting...We could discuss the catholic chanting and see what thats all about...
