I have the original Inreach and paired to my cell phone i can send texts no problem but when someone sends one back to the number that shows up on there phone i never receive it. Has anyone had this problem or know something i'm doing wrong?

They should be sending it to the number that they have received your message from ie. you need to send the first message and they can respond, but it sounds like you have that figured out. What if they send an email to your delorme email address are those getting through?

You could have them try and send a message to your "inreach address". It would be listed in your profile on the inreach website.

You could also try and send a rest message to Testinreach@garmin.com you get free tests every month.

Have tried the number that they receive and nothing, when i sent the "test" message to Delorme i get one back which has me believing there is nothing wrong with the unit. Haven't tried the receiving an email yet.

Beachsled has it right.
It even states somewhere that the number may change.
Use your InReach address.

Now that you mention it, the number does change some times. I noticed that on my wifes phone, but didn't think anything of it. I would think that you could reply to the number your message was sent from that same day?

I just bought a Garmin InReach SE and have had no issues. Are you sure you’re not receiving messages at all? I believe there is a 10 min cycle time that InReach checks for messages (that time can be changed through your InReach account) my default time was 10 mins with good clear view of sky.

It's also important to continuously do the updates. I once got the message a day later. I was a few updates behind.

This is the most important, the InReach functions will be affected by the current firmware. Make sure you follow the directions and check for updates. Otherwise you should also be able to do a test communication text that automatically responds to you from the Inreach server.
