Boot for the wheels may be a wise investment too

The boots I have seen are not worth much. The first winter I was using mine I drove off and forgot to disconnect it. Got to the gas station about 5km down the highway and realized, oh crap, the boot used to be on that tire. The aluminum fender was a bit dented. No other damage and we didn't even notice while driving.

I've gone to a sturdy chain and lock through the adjacent trailer wheels.

I have a set of wheel chocks that clamp between the tires like a scissor jack that you can padlock. Check with any RV dealer.

If anything around the wheels that will be what I go with. I need to use chock blocks on my driveway anyways. Just need to make sure what I use is easy to use in -30 weather.
