That really sucks this happened to him. I like his videos it wasn't a bunch of swearing and drinking a dumb shat. You can tell he is very passionate about riding and the sport itself. I went back and watched all his videos on his channel he offers lots of riding and saftey advice about sledding in lots of his videos. He puts lots of work into his videos spends a lot of late nights putting them together. One video he explains how he chooses his riding areas using a variety of maps and tecnowledgy. Unfortunatley he was a victim of senseless vandilism and hes not the only one whos been targeted in Revelstoke. He also had his super clamps stole at the start of the season. Feel bad for the guy he works hard to save up to come out and ride for a few months and gets some bad luck. Hopefully he keeps making videos but would understand if he does not.

Not my words...they were his. He was referring to Durand Glacier and Mr Nice Guy Reudi, heli ski tenures and such.

When I said I had a good conversation, I meant it didn’t turn into a $hit show argument like I was expecting. I didn’t agree with everything he stated but he did have some good points.

What were the “good points”?

What were the “good points”?

Lots of people screw it up for the rest of us. Not necessarily Matt.

I used to be a co-owner in 50 mile camp at Caribou basin. Used to be able to ride Caribou basin on the weekends mid winter. There was an approved trail from 1300 meters up to 2000 meters and then the alpine above 2000 meters was wide open to sledding. We used to encounter people who were riding off the approved trail between 1300 and 2000 meters elevation and when we would try to educate them on the rules, 95% of them would tell us to **** off. Well, now Caribou Basin is fully closed from Jan 01 till April 16 due to the Dick Heads that couldn’t follow the rules.

Those were the ‘Good Points’ he was making. A lot of people that don’t have Matt’s ethics or can’t be bothered to learn the rules and boundary’s screw it up for the rest of us.

How are the Caribou doing? is it working? Is there a report we can look at?

I think the reports are bull****. I remember reading a report maybe 10 years ago saying how there’s under 15 caribou in the revelstoke area. Shortly after that report I seen a heard of atleast 30 Just chillin enjoying the sun. The closest closure was probably 10 km away. I was so confused that I just seen double the animals that were reported. I think that’s when I started realizing it’s all smoke and mirrors. Maybe they only report how many animals that are in the closed area to justify them. Make it seem worse than it is.

If Matt has been following all of the rules, and he stated very blatantly in one of his last video's that he has not nor would ever snowmobile in a closure, then Kertis's response to you is just plain stupid. Kertis specifically states that Matt has been "Compromising our backcountry usage, but believe me, he did not make many locals happy in his time here this winter, and there has been irreversible damage done that is unfolding in the near future." So he already apologized to Matt for hopping onto a post that they found out isn't true. So is this all about an 'outsider' finding some local honey holes or is there more to this story???

Not ****, he has distinct sense of ownership of the crown land surrounding Revelstoke.

He has the valve stems to prove it.

Love it skegpro, good on ya for taking it a step further. Matt on day 70 "well, going into a new area today" 70 some days and still hasn't seen all the areas hahah fawk the local haters. I bet Matt has a few GoPros rigged up in his truck now...just in case.

Don't matter if he deleted the post...it's been out there seen and screen snapped. His name ran negative all weekend im sure. Deleting a post and contacting the person you "accused" isn't doing the right thing. Make another post and show the world you fawked up!!!

bla blah blah those areas are for locals only is what i get out of that. LMAO How dare you look at a map and find other areas to ride!! especially if your not from here!

I think that a good 90% of the guys watching his vids will never likely ride in any of those areas. No groomed trails or walmart sized parking lots keeps a lot of guys away.

I get it, locals don't want areas they usually know about ridden by others, even if its crown land. But its just that, crown land, this isn't yellowstone and John Dutton trying to keep tourists off a privately owned ranch. Loose lips sink ships, I think Matt has gone out of his way to keep the names and locations of the areas he rides out of his videos. Like Sean said, want to ride areas like that? Spend some time researching maps, area closures and put in the work to get into said areas. But don't be surprised if a guy from Ontario has the same idea...

I don't think so.
