How about Cataract Creek for sledding?
Great place to take the kids to get them in the sport. Trails are decent thanks to the Calgary Snowmobile Clubs and volunteer efforts. For off trail riding you need to drop over the Fording Pass into the BC side to get any open meadow and safe riding. I have never seen off trail riding on the Alberta side in all the years I've rode there but then I don't ride there anymore either.

Lived there for a long time Never seen Revy kind of snow there. One every seven years or so get a big dump and a few days later it blows away. Last time I went ride with friend there a side by side passed us on the trail. Never waste my time going there again.

I’ve had like 3 super deep days there, but when they happen you gotta get out there or like said, the wind will take it before you enjoy it. Middle koot gets decent, but there’s a reason revelstoke is famous. Not in the same league.
