bahhahahahahaha, what's all this wussy talk of cleaning this thread up? Difference of opinion is all I see....MM can defend themselves if they choose. Why do you think we keep posting (right Larry....:p).......this thread is the best advertising that MM could have asked for! OPEN HOUSE, DON'T FORGET TO STOP BY!!!!! :D

Will there be a Wedge on display?

i agree 100% this is an educational thread. what needs to be cleaned up? i see someone stating his opinion and a few replies. if there is something wrong (i don't see any) just ask and it will be fixed. i think mm is doing what is good for there business and that is the bottom line. the sled show will live or die on it's own.

modman has the right idea. me who knows.

Thanks, Martins are great marketers....I highly doubt that they do not make money on what they sell. They might low-ball a few items to get you in their store.......You might call it bullying....I call it creative marketing.
There are thousands of potential buyers at this trade show....if you can get some of them to believe that the product they want/need is a better deal from your business (whether it be a cheaper price or better service....), then your business grows. If you need to put up a few lost-leaders to intice a buyer to dealing with you....then do it.

Jeez, I read all the time how Terry @ T&T in Bonnyville has the best prices out there.......do you think he is bullying the other dealers who sell Arctic Cat......nope, just some creative marketing, good prices, great service and the rest just happens.......

Not sure what you mean by they didn't want RMK to sell Klim.......but if me as a vendor can convince a wholesaler to keep me as their only retailer in the area.(ie if Martins tried to convince Klim to have only them as a retail outlet).....that's another great marketer in action....its called business.

If you are the only person carrying a hot selling item.....good money can be made. If 15 vendors are selling the exact same item.......margins are minimal.
Rocky Mountain Xtreme not Rmk. You obviously didnt understand my initial post maybe Sylvan Learning centre would be a good idea for you, reading comprehension..... But unofficially telling another company they cannot sell a product at the sled show because the big CHEESIES are there is bullying not buissness.

I also think that Mountain Magic has a Great idea !! You still get to buy from them at the show and get to see more cool sleds at the place where all the Magic is done, back at there shop !!! It's a win win for everybody ! The more money the show promoters want, will have alot greater impact on the businesses bottom line which will have more of them drop out of the show regardless, it's probably cheaper to advertise ! I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin !!!!

I totally agree, Mountain Magic has a great idea here and I hope more shop's see this!! The show hasn't changed in years, same setup and protocol, its time to shake things up and offer the people something different. Every year after the show there is a thread that say's " Things we want to see at the next sled show" lot's of great idea's out there. Best I heard was swap meet or a classified section, people pay for a table or a set amount to have their sled on display for sale. Just some idea's for something different would bring me back. I live in the city and count me out....Thanks MM look forward to checkin out the new projects!!

There have been a few companies that have down sized there booths this year for the show, as well as i've noticed a thread or two about local AB snowmobile clubs that wont be attending the show this year also. Maybe the ASA will recognize that they are loosing people that make the show what it is and change some of there thinking.

As far as the KLIM thing with others not being aloud to sell it at the show. We are a klim dealer and were told that we aren't allowed to sell it at the because that is martins "territory". Not just anyone can sell klim you have to apply and they check where the closest klim dealer territory is and such. They did try to kinda screw us by trying to put a second dealer in mcbride but that didn't work so well for them.

All in all in the end i hope that the things that some of the dealers and shops are doing this year with downsizing and such that the ASA really wakes up and see's whats happening and make the appropriate changes to keep the show goin strong and even make it better.

The last time I went to the Edmonton snow show MM didn't even have a booth (That I remember) but they did have their open house (I know because I bought a tunnel at it). Maybe be thankful that they even have a booth at the show.

I'd be way more inclibed to go to the show if there was more open houses available. I would way rather get to walk around someones shop and talk shop talk rather than go to a show to buy stuff (with the huge exception of a swapmeet). I think their open house concept is an awesome one and everyone should jump at the chance to go have a look.
