Don’t threaten me with a good time, I’m surprised you don’t make everyone buy an asa pass to be on this forum, it’s only mentioned in half of your posts lol

It's evident you don't believe, or support the local infrastructure that's put into place, nor respect the amount of volunteer hours that go into the trail systems, the only way we can keep our trails open, and maintained is from the dollars from those passes. Maybe one day, you'll open your eyes and see that, or maybe by that point we won't have trails in Alberta Anymore.

Are you one of the Snow and Mudd mods that rides from six mile up into Owlhead and Hunters bypassing the trail collectors?

I've never ridden sicamous so definitely not.

Also, I have zero issue paying trail pass fees no matter where I ride. I understand the struggles and the time and effort every single volunteer puts in thanklessly.

K wasn't you sitting at same table at club auction dinner then. Can't remember the guys name. He was with the S&M crew, kind of a round dude with a mullet. Said he helps Ron Knight guy run his website so assumed he is a moderator. We won the 50/50 together. Told me they stay at Swansea and their friend Raymond takes them up that way. I suggested we donate the winnings back to the club and asked where they get trail passes that way... can you say awkward lol

Love this thread.
S&M is great for tech, riding conditions, buy and sell (thanks Lyle, sorry Marty).
But I’d be lying if I didn’t love the entertainment. Between this and Pooh vs Doo, bashing, and poking fun it wouldn’t keep me here as much.
It’s awesome. Light hearted, a few jabs, some hurt feeling report…… just gotta keep your big girl panties on. Mods, please don’t change a thing.

I also tried to reach out to be a supporting vendor but they wont tell me how to make payment.. so i guess im not wanted 🤣😢
Ron deals with all the vendor stuff now and runs his own business outside of this. Best with him. He'll get you setup.

I'll give him a call next week when I'm feeling better and help him get his stuff setup for online payment processing.

So let me get this straight ?
You want small businesses or whatever to be supporting members to sell but have no way to accept funds ?
What is it , a secret hand shake , meet in parking lot with funds . Lol 😉
Or the old cheque in the mail that no one accepts anymore or even has them.

we recently updated our Point of Sale system that we utilize, and with Ron have been so sick last year, there's been almost ZERO supporting vendors funds collected in the past probably 18 months,

Real Trudeau move, chirp off then ban me so I can’t reply lol. First of all I don’t ride the trails, if I did I’d buy a pass, fortunately I’m not a senior yet so I don’t need to bore myself running down some gay trail over and over again. I ride the rally here in whitecourt from time to time and buy my day pass. Not everyone needs or wants a full ASA pass to ride one day. You may think so but that’s because you’re in the “clic”. I get the work that goes into it, my family ran the snowmobile club at the lake in northern sask when I was growing up, as a kid during times when people actually got their kids to do things I did a bunch of stuff for the club, usually putting up signage in the off-season, helping clear new or existing trails, working on cabins in the summer, helping on the rally etc., and have went out on trail clearing expeditions here in whitecourt as well, news flash volunteering for the club doesn’t make you mother Theresa. If there is gonna be rules on this forum they should apply to everyone and not be different from person to person. I don’t know this Marty character but sounds like he gets the short end of the stick because he isn’t part of the s&m “cool people” group. This forum is a decent sled forum, was always good because it’s fairly local to western Canada, but it was a lot better years ago before it turned into the doolaider old boys group forum though. I tried buying a shirt at the sled show, looked at them, didn’t have my size on the rack, waited 5 minutes or so while the people at the s&m booth just chatted with each other. Not a soul came to talk or ask if I needed help……I’m not a clic member or a celebrity like Maxy or duke so nobody recognizes or cares. I walked away…. Oh well

If pepole are visiting with one another so be it as im a polite fellow that hates too interrupt...

^^^ I feel embarrassed asking for help when folks have things on the go,,, but it always works out some how...

One would think this happens too folks once in awhile,,, but I could only guess that most pepole will help someone in most cases...

Im no one special,,, just a regular dude like most folks,,, some times We get service right away,,, some times We don't...

All I know is that if I really want something I seek out a person that can assist me...

I Once lived life in the fast lane,,, not so much now days after visiting a few trade shows,,, If I got time too be at a show,,, I got time too spend time at the booths I want too vist...

Crappy deal none the less tmo,,, hopefully things work out for you on the next vist too a S&M booth or gathering...

I hear yha when you say We feel unworthy at times,,, lots of folks feel this way,,, hopefully all of us take a break,,, slow it down and think up a game plan at finding service or help/ assistance when We need it...

Cheers from Don

About trail fees in my books now days...

I too have cleared alot of trails all across Western Canada and a few in the East...
No charge...

Pulled off alot of years sleding threw out most of British Columbia always paying my dues just like alot folks...

Most everyone pays pays pays...

Those days are long gone now,,, I still clear trails today West of RMH free of charge,,, I go too places where there is nill for humans...

Not that I don't like humans,,, i find it better for Me to not be around them too much...

My friend and I look down Those God awful £'Ed up cut lines and away We go,,, We would rather pay zero trail fee and cut our own lines our selves... Just the way it is for us now days...

48 ++ years of packing saw and axe...
Screenshot_20221217-181144_Photos.jpg

Every photo I post of my unit always has a saw,,, my good friend has 68 years of clearing trails under his belt all across Canada...
Screenshot_20221216-175600_Photos.jpg

A machine is useless without a saw,,, axe,,, machete,,, yha can't go anywhere,,, and if its a cleared trail someone wants money...

Nope,,, We go were no one goes because We choose too do our own thing of free crown lands,,, We've paided our dues and We pay no more...

Yha want a fixed trail then go ahead and pay...
The rest of us that don't want too pay go our own way...

Life's simpler that way,,, the quest too find lost is and has been on our books from day one...

If you see 2 little red Onda down some god awful cut line out west,,, you can rest asher it's me and my old friend chain saw Bucky,,, 116 years combined punching holes threw the forest...

Cheers All

Oh,,, PS:
If we do decide too run another trail fee area we will pay our dues,,, but there are lots of places in bc that require no fee... Ride the wild cat areas fir sure

Not that I really cared, doesn’t hurt my feelings to spend the shirt money elsewhere. Just never used to be like that, I bought a few S&M shirts years ago and every time was helped all was fine. The last couple shows I’ve been too was like pulling teeth to get someone at the S&M to help a guy or talk. More or less just saying it used to be a more inviting type of group, now it’s turned into the old boys group. Like what we like, do as we do and obey all our rules. If you don’t you get banned lol…… apparently
