So, I recently went for a job interview at a plant that has been running for many year's
and there is approx 30 people that work there full time. There is no running water (so,no
flushing toilet of course),coffee room/office is a 20-30 year old portable atco trailer with a
falling down ceiling and no flooring. (there is a porta potie on premisis though)
(The picture i'm painting here is if I had a dog,I wouldn't let him go in there to take a crap on the floor.)
So........... my question is,how many of you work or have worked in places like described above, and how desperate for work were you to work in such a place?
PS .This is a Big Company, not a mom and pop operation.

Lots of interesting comments from lots of people. I recently gutted my house, no running water, ****ters, nada...I put in a porta potty, microwave, garbage bin and ensured hand sanitizer was on site. But I have to be honest...I did it for selfish reasons. Working in construction and knowing guys will s**t or piss wherever they can and leave it there, so I wasn't willing to take that risk.

As everyone pointed out it really depends on how hungry you are for work. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad until you are able to pick and choose!

I agree they probably do have ****ters, they just dont tell new hires untill there 3 month probations over.that weeds out the weak.
If you stop and think for a minute this will all make more sense. They are HIRING, everyone else is laying off employees. Sounds like a great place to work. They have the common sense to run a business and be expanding in a down economy.

I also think this is a great way to ensure they get real men working for them. Probably a strategic plan by the management!

Who would want to pay their employees to hide out in the washroom and beat off while watching porn on their smart phones?

You do what you have to do to keep the family fed on roofs over their heads. I have learned over the years that being a dad and provider is job number 1. However at times it is the most thankless job but truly the most rewarding. Not having a pooper is really your biggest concern then perhaps your not hungry enough. Obviously you have never craped in the woods.

Walmart Lloyd isn't hiring, service writer's @ work Dad is Manager. They had a lot of people apply of the last year, didn't hire many. Princess Auto in Lloyd likely has the worst washroom in town!

Kinda hard to believe that a thread about the condition of a toilet in an anonymous business would get to be 7 pages. Jeebus, all that's going on in western Canada, Alberta and the globe, and a bad $hitter in Lloyd is a huge issue.
Entitlement issue, yep, don't like it, move on, no friggen wonder we have been struggling with the TFW issue.

Sorry piston I never meant to be an A hole,I just meant that guy's that work in truck's or
in the field(patch or farm) should have no expectation of bathroom's and a sink to wash in.

No worries. I'm a kunt.

I don't disagree with you by the way. It would be nice to having even the bare essentials at work. Some put a higher value on things then others. Personally, of all the things a guy can bitch about, or want... running water and a bathroom at work aren't at the top of mine. Camp/living conditions however, totally different story.

And when my kids are a little older, I'm going to use this example as to the difference an education makes in job selection.
