I’ve been watching vids of mini’s lately. Looks like a pile of fun to be had with one, especially around the foothills. But, I don’t see or hear much about them around here. Are there any local builders in n Alberta where a guy can check them out?

Thanks for the references. Still though, we rarely see any around here. Wonder why?

big rivers aren't that much fun in them. they need shallow and braided to be fun. I have a few friends with them and they are fun but need to be with other minis and on the right river.

They would be fun but just good for taking on small rides. Not much for comfort. There’s a company out of Sangudo that sells kits. I would like one. I have a Polaris 650 lined up to build one out of!

I "bought" one last year from a friend and haven't gone to pick it up in PR yet. It has the old turbo Honda motor/pump in it. It looks like an old eagle race tunnel and seats 1 lol. Its been around PR since I was a young kid. Thing rips, it had tunnels that have been filled up so its like a step tech and theres lots of potential to up the HP with that powerplant

650 triple would be sweet. I had a 800 triple Polaris storm. That engine was awesome.

Couple things I’ve found watching my buddy build one this past fall. A lot of guys don’t realize how much welding is involved in these kits 50-70 hours average on a 10-12’. Having a jig to weld the kit would be way easier also, using ratchet straps is a joke and embarrassing. Then there is the part of building yourself a really nice mini and putting a piece of **** seadoo motor in it that could realistically crater on your first trip on the river cause it’s used. I’ve been following these rigs for a couple years. I love them, there a tonne of fun but can get pricey. No fun on big rivers. Small channels and creeks are a blast. There also no fun when your alone. So having buddy’s with them makes it better.

Thanks for the replies guys. For sure having more than 1 toy on any kind on a adventure is a lot more fun than playing alone. Im trying to convince my friends to buy one too. Not so easy to do. Lol. I would be more apt to buy a new one fully assembled and maintain it from there. Lots of small rivers and creeks around here to use it on. I really enjoy the Athabasca with my Thunderjet, but it’s too heavy to go up the Hay or the Berland. Although I sure get tempted to try. Lol.

Too funny .... I was going to mention that.....but thought, no , better not. I get enough flack on that front already from my buds. I’m single and have to make my own decisions... Although before I bought my boat, I did ask my then 7 year old granddaughter if it was a good idea. She said it was, so .....I did! Lol

Haha I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this vid. I wonder if there was any damage to boat.
