can they pick gold. Lost my gold ring in amongs the potato plants, I think it fell somewhere in the dirt. Who knows where to rent one if it is possible. Thanks.

I am sure someone on here has an Ex Wife that could sniff it out for you.

P.S. only a quality dector would pick it up, not sure if anyone rents them.

I'll ask my son. He has a national geographic metal detector. I know they were hiding things to test what it could find. It's not an expensive one but if the ring is on or near the surface it should pick it up.

Never mind, I found it, it was lying half buried in the dirt beside the potato plants.

For future reference yes metal detectors do detect gold.
