Merging GPX files

Not sure if anyone is doing this but this is what I have found. From year to year I log tracks called the year ie; 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. So you end up with many areas covered. I have been using Mapsource and you can only open one at a time. I found a free program called GPS TrackMaker. You can add all the files you want, edit the unwanted or duplicate tracks/ points and have a master file of everything. It doesnt have the best mapping in there, but its free. Them you can export it out to your garmin and everything is there. Is anyone else doing something similar? if so what program, may be there is a better way to database all of your tracks without buying a program.

You can do this right in Mapsource. Open one of your gdb, mps, or gpx files, navigate to your tracks, routes, or waypoints, select which ones you want, copy, then open another file, and paste. You can also merge tracks, filter tracks, etc. The only thing I use an external program for is converting kml/kmz to gpx (gpsies.com).
