Melted recoil

Has this happened to anyone.Last weekend my recoil gave out.When i pulled it off and looked inside the pawl had melted to the rope sheave.From the look of things i gather the pawl did not disengage after starting the sled.At first i thought it was orange gasket goop then i relized it was melted plastic.

Mine has just melted the orange to the white peice, never seen anythin like it, im pissed as my starter gear is also stripped... Waiting on parts for both. fascck saakesz

Thats what happened to mine. Your better off just to buy a new recoil.

Don't rebuild, been there done that. It will just blow up again. Buy a new assembly and be done with it.

Don't forget to pull tour flywheel off and clean up all the parts. It took a couple years, but my dead recoil parts took out my stator. That was an expensive lesson learned

Just curious mate as to how the dead parts killed your stator. What actualy happened.

When your recoil piles up, all the chunks of plastic gets banged around from the flywheel turning, hitting the windings of the stator causing no spark
