I feel like these days if a guy puts a Mohawk on their helmet and says ‘my land’ to any COs and the like they’d be good lol

Its not hard to do a bit of research and see what is open for riding and what isn't. If there is no closures and its not a national park its fair game

Interesting. Would SaR deploy to other non club managed areas? Is it simply because the trail is "closed" or what's the rationale? Just curious is all
I was only saying what a local of McBride told me. I think if it came down to it search and rescue would go but I think things are said for the political red tape over the bridge and the trail closure

I'd buy that. Scare tactics.

S&R will go in and do what they do, so long as they aren't putting them selves at risk. As a rider, you still have to consider the response time that 30km of ungroomed trail will add, not unlike any off the been path area. Best be with a party you trust with your life. I know I won't go out anymore without people I trust. S&R is a last resort.

From what I am told they wouldn't be permitted to use the trial. They would only be able to fly in weather permitting.

You can ride Renshaw but it is nothing to do with the club you could say and it will be your own responsibility. So I believe no search and rescue, or rescue of any kind like last year

If you have a Zoleo or Garmin or other satellite communicator, you will be able to contact search and rescue,

Yes you can use Zoleo,or Garmin etc which I think most pack .But as others even stated ( 79TXL ) search and rescue can't use the bridge . That is why they say its up to you and your riding crew. I do think if it came down to it search and rescue would go up. Or weather permitting helicopter for search and rescue.

in the renshaw closure thread from last year BBtoys flat out said, if it's not clear enough to fly SAR was not going to be able to respond to anything in the Renshaw.

That is basically the same as anywhere.
They won’t fly if the weather conditions are unfavorable or too risky. Will not put more lives at risk.

Exactly. My buddy spent a couple days in Trout Lake with a broken back. Can’t fly in fog. Woulda been hell !

when will people realize that SAR is not a guarantee that you will be rescued. If conditions are not safe enough for SAR to operate to rescue your sorry ass from some dumb ass decisions you made. Don't come crying on this site because you feel that you are entitled. Most SAR personell are volunteers, unless they are in the military, reguardless, why should they risk their lives if they know that conditions will put them at risk.

If the Renshaw is not accessable it is not accessable, don't put your fellow man at risk, just to satify your need to go snowmobiling.
