I don’t like the figures saying impaired’s by marijuana consumption are up because until recently, they had a very hard time testing for it on the roadside and in many cases alcohol was included in the case so it was a mute point. I believe the numbers were always there, just never factored in.

Now that they are actually testing for it it looks really bad so they run with the numbers.

I agree they should have started screening for it years ago instead of the day they legalized it.

Obviously they will have to get it fixed. I do know of mout swabs the are accurate after so many hrs of smoking, many employers use them. Not sure why that wouldn't work for road side

They have worked on alcohol testing for 40 years and people still drink and drive and get off inpaired driving.

Its going to take years to of testing, court cases and who knows what for confirmed testing roadside.

Just my opinion. Not google researched.

If pot hangs in your body for a month, how can they tell if you are impaired? Doesn't sound like booze test where the test can determine BAC.

You're obviously passionate about marijuana and want it to be used, which of course is your choice, its a free country. I disagree, and see a whole whack of problems that are going to arise from it, most of which have already started to appear in Colorado as the biggest example. The medical evidence is right now demonstrating that there are negative effects of cannibis use. Any purported positive effects are right now anecdotal, not to say that in the future studies might prove that there are positive benefits of smoking pot. Those are the facts, as of the present. You may disagree and feel differently, but your feelings and desires don't alter the facts.

Its true that the vast majority of people charged with impaired driving get off, but its typically for procedural legal reasons, not a failing of the breathalyzer equipment.

I find it interesting that it tests for all sorts of drugs.

So what are they gonna do when a person tests positive for meth or cocaine......

Do we need legal limits now for the the illegal drugs?

I might get one of these for the shop, put it right next to where everyone clocks in.
Drug test everyone every morning just to be safe.

There was talk on 630 ched the other morning, that machine does not function well in cold weather and most police don’t even have one. They were training the cops to do a sobriety test like in the movies, walk a line, twirl around, touch your nose kinda stuff.


I think you can only test your employees before hiring or after an incident, not randomly.

They say that , don’t drive for 4 hours after getting high, that’s so fawking stupid lol....... So when they test you it’s still in your system, what about people using in for medicinal purposes.....stop driving all together. They have no way too test it , because it’s in your system doesn’t mean your impaired......
