With the snow flying this morning I thought I'd share a couple upgrades I did to my new to me 16 M8000 proclimb. Throughout the season I'll be working with Altitude Power Sports to test out some of their arctic cat parts simply because they offer awesome products for any year of cat with big improvements over stock and to provide some feedback from real world experience. I decided to start with the "easy" mods that any one with simple skills and tools can do to their sled to get some significant gains. Further work to clutch this sled perfectly will be going on all season but the parts are SSI Y-Pipe, Stainless Steel Can, Hyvo 49/21 gearing (higher ratio than stock) and BDX secondary and primary springs. Haven't decided on a helix yet as I want to try the stock 48 degree first. I'll post in this thread throughout the year of different set ups I've tried and what I thought of them.

Install of everything took about 3 hours but that was going slow, have a beer or two and I got distracted helping my buddy install a fix kit on his pro a couple times. Next for me is a set of BDX boards to replace the not so great stock boards.

If anyone if looking for high quality parts and great services hit up Altitude Power Sports on Facebook or dragon weld on S&M.

Got out to revy this weekend and got to ride some pretty decent snow with a fairly solid base, about 30cm of fresh and little more in the trees. I actually ran a stock polaris primary spring 140/330 instead of the 145/290 BDX. First off, I ran the Polaris spring cause I haven't figured out what helix to run and it seems to work a little better, from my couple laps around the acreage, with the straight 48.

Sled pulls very hard after about 5800 rpm, before that there is a small little bog that I think I can get ride of with some small adjustments. I was pulling 8100-8150 rpm all day long which is right in the sweet spot. I had 73grams in the primary so the y-pipe has definitely allowed me to pull an extra gram or two. The gear up kit is a win in my books as well, I'll pay attention to my track speed next weekend and report back.

Oh and the Can sounds awesome!

Don’t toss the SSI primary spring away just yet. If you ever upgrade to the 18 roller primary, the Green SSI spring is a perfect combo

Ive heard good things about that upgrade. Is it just a simple bolt on?

I'm actually going to install it for the next trip, as I'll have a different helix to throw in the secondary. It'll be close to the recommended setup from SSI

It’s a Great clutch. Great update. The 18 likes the 48. Trust me, I spent my whole last season trying 6 different combinations. Don’t ask, I can’t remeber haha.

Easy bolt on. Buy the alignment tool, you will need to shim the secondary and buy the new belt. Only crap part, in reverse the belt slips and makes a crappy sound. Im sure it caused by the belt riding too high in the secondary, 1/2 to 3/4 of the belt makes contact, because the deflection bolt is removed
