I have an 2007 M8 and it is relatively stock. Thinking of doing some things to it to make it go better. Just wondering what has worked best and creates the most noticeable performance gains without going inside the engine. Possibly pipes and clutching are what i am leaning towards.

SLP pipe set helps a bunch. Clutching on the 07 M8 was brutal - try a torsional kit in the secondary, adjustable weights and a new spring in the primary. Above all, make sure the clutches themselves aren't worn out and dirty - clean clutches are a must. You neglected to mention what the sled has for mileage - may be time to freshen up the top end, too.

Kmod conversion, Power Claw track, running board mod, and bumper mod have been the most noticable mods on my 08 m8.

The running board and bumper mod actually help quite a bit so you don't get hung up on the running boards as easily. It's more than just looks.

What is the running board mod? SLP exhaust doesn't require a fuel controler which is nice but i think a well tuned speedwerx system would be better and clutching.

What is the running board mod?

it turns the old style m8 and m7 running boards into the 2009 and newer style. basically gets rid of the last 2 or so ft of the running board.

theoretically reducing rear running board and bumper drag and allowing the back end to keep digging and moving snow.

I really like having the plastic inserts and outer edge being plastic with the traction screws, this way its never icing up and your not doing a superman behind your sled when you slip. Saves energy, stucks, and injuries.

You send your rear shocks into Kmodsnowmobileparts.com and they will revalve them, and send you a new rear arm. Makes it a totally different sled. Alittle pricey but so worth it.

Roughly how much ? And how much better does it make the sled work? Does it transfer better and make it ride smoother?

I will be looking into the burant revalve from Nextech in sherwood park for next winter. Its supposed to make the sled ride way better and not trench as much
