Day ride starts on old abandon logging road that has stood up pretty good.

And a change up of buckets to the open class HD-Hog unit that bud give me.

This must be chicken number 1000 since I quit counting after 2.

Looks like that last track down this cut-line was me on my dual-sport bike last year as its pretty much blocked off from logging at both ends.

One could SxS up to this point, then it side hill in 3 spots as its tricky on a quad at the best of times.

This is what happened to the Mountain Top Cut-Across in the last 2 small wind storms.

And I hate to see a good un-used trail go to waist.

I spent 2 hours and gained 1/3 of the way threw, a few more trips will open it up to connect it to main trail. Nice to have loop arounds when it can happen.
Rest of the day is to relax and look for game tracks. Bear tracks are starting to show up more often.

New trails on every ride. 7 years by quad & 5 or 6 by motorcycle in this area as they go every where.

Swamp donkey was giving me the look over.

Found 2 new accesses to the river too.

Now I have 3 crossing spots.

Trapper Arff and Imdoo'n cabin from the 1950's. Ha.

She high tech back in its day, and not 1 beer can in-sight...

For Sale as is,,, 1 well looked after cabin that comes with tin roof, solar sun beam window, free aluminum broken scoop shovel and leather harness tack for old horse. Front porch needs a bit of work since its a family unit on space-us mass of land of trees in all directions. Comes with running water 200 feet from front door and a un-heated out door biffy that is older then the cabin.

Please call realtor near you for more details as there might be a well used Honda quad that goes with package.

Kinda neat that someone lived back here many moons ago, and that its stood the test of time.
Plan to try the fishing when it opens.

Then it was time to do the Nordegg Meeting as folks from the S&M forum came out to see whats happening out here.

A fellow named Cal came out as well from BHAM (Big Horn ATV Society) as they have a big steak in what is going on with this AWP (Alberta Wildland Park).
The AWA (Alberta Wildland Association folk did not attend as expected, so the next meeting will be interesting as the good folks of Nordegg would like to have access as normal.
For them and us.

Limited photos to not draw attention, or up-set all the good folks that showed up. I'll stay in contact with new pals I meet out there as well as Nordeggab and his many pals Wayne along with others that support all use activity for those that wish to access the area.
They ask for all of us to respect what is there and show good standing to everyone we encounter.

Pack in,,, Pack out as normal. Enjoy the stay by adding quality to what we all have, feel free to PM'ing me if thing don't seem right as the good folks in area can quickly address stuff that needs attention. There is lots of human power in area to correct most every thing that comes along.

Thanks too the many on S&M,,, Locals and my self for towing the line of support as we move foreword at keeping the dream alive. My plan is to join the (BHAS) as it will add quantity with quality. Each of us could do the same when it works out for you,,, joining a group in your area would be appreciated as you will benefit long term in knowing what's going on local and meeting new friends that like the same thing.

More to post on my 5 day ride.

Pal Lem as we find out where 420 bro comes from... LOL.

Here's 2 links on S&M that I've attacked to continue to topic for where we all go from here. On going not only at Nordegg, but the whole area along the Eastern Slopes of Alberta.

This Thread is Nordegg Closures by Nordeggab

This Thread is Trail Repairs by Arff

This will be on going since times have changed, if we want it, then each of have a chance to pitch in some-where some how to keep the many activities we like going.

Pal Lem. Please feel free to post on the to above threads or PM me at any time.

So after the Nordegg meeting it was time to return to the trees, best time in my budget is camping for free since I hate driving to and from. Best bang for the buck is not going home. Ha

Pretty much self contained to take on the happenings here in Canada, tail gate kitchen has feed many a friends over the years all across North America, and the odd furry critters too.

Apr 28th. 2016 Finding Auto Parts Ride

My long time pal joined in the next day to revisit this area, 30 plus years since his last return out here. and a chance to find the catch and release ponds.
Old abandon autos from way back when, and its handy for the Polaris guys if they need an axle or good used tire. Ha.

There was a good used Can-am frame there too.

And the head off a Yamaha Apex Sled. LOL

The trail repair in this area was next too nill since the spring run-off never happened, no snow over the winter.

Pal and I checked out many of the logging roads and cut-blocks

After pals ride, it ended up raining, so I bunkered down with the Nordegg folks,,, the next following day we head out to see more areas. Trail repairs and visiting.

The dudes had a good laugh since I ended up buying a Onda 420, now I might be known as 420 Bro. Ha. I hope it has something to do with Naked Cows...

I was booking it home when the idea came to me that it was Saturday and not Sunday as every thing is mixed up in my Pumpkin,,, so U-turn on hwy to head further West.

Was going to header home, but I found an extra day, Ha.
It is time to check out more adventures out of my normal zone.

Got lucky on the hill top crossing that had a good portion of wash-out, both sides.

Time to chain up before the creek.

Grizzly Bear diggings back here.

Made it to this turn around spot as the trip out will just as fun.

Still lots of snow up top.

Two of those distance Peaks is a look-out I normally use.

Then I headed down to the river bottom to hit the trails I spotted from above.

Tuff going in some spots. If it was easy, then it would be no fun at all, Ha.

At least it was dry so the little Onda could find its way around.

More to follow as the day has just begun.

Best place to hang out on those hot days.

Didn't spend much time looking up in-case something came down.

Top pool.
