Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to upgrade my snow pants to a better quality and specific to snowmobiling. I've been getting more into the sport the last 4 years and realize I need to invest into a good pair. W

hat things/options should I be looking for in a new pair?? Zipper pockets, side leg zippers (to the waist?), chest high????

Please let me know your thoughts and recommnedations. I'm willing to pay a bit more for something that will last a number of years. Thanks

Bibs are the way to go. Nothing worse than snow down your back and butt crack. I hate it so much I'm going to buy a one-piece suit haha.

There's a new company based out of Golden called Stict, or maybe it's Strikt...can't remember. Either way, I tried their bibs on at the sled show and they were really nice. A buddy just picked up a set and loves them.

The Klim Towgotee (sp) are great. They are bibs and keep the back warm and snowless. A good gaiter (some people disagree with this) that has never failed me in 6 years. Lots of pockets with wind/water proof zippers. Knee pads are also included as well as reinforced knees. They are guarenteed to keep you dry and the guys at Klim Canada in McGrath, AB will really look after you. I have not had a pair keep me dry for 6 years so don't read that wrong. I have had them for 6 years and when they leak (and they will leak just from lots of wear), I take them back and get the "water test" done and if the test shows leakage, I am handed a brand spanking new pair. Friggin' awesome warranty and a great place to deal!

Klim, Motorfist and FXR have good stuff. I checked out the Strikt stuff at the show. Looks like a quality product but haven't tried it.
HMK is makes a onesy as well - Black Ops. I'm tempted to try one even though I've never had a single issue with my MF Rekon bibs.

Motorfist stuff fits bigger than their sizing indicates. There are some good deals online. dirtcheapsnow.com has a pair of old stock medium bibs for $139.

Swapped from Klim pants to Motorfist bibs and would recommend them to any and everyone, haven't been wet since the switch, the bibs add the extra protection from snow falling down your back and the extra pockets are a nice place to store odds and ends, check out the Motorfist warranty, sure Klim will have you send in your gear and replace or fix it but Motorfist just hands you a lender set until yours is repaired or replaced, been through it myself and even if the gear wasn't awesome I'd be running it on the warranty in itself

Tried on the Tobe onezy at the Chris Brown clinic last year. Very nice product but as their target market group is snowboarders and skiers they don't fit like the snowmobile gear from Klim or motorfist. I found them to be too baggy in the leg and seat with a very low hanging crotch. If they fit me better i would have bought one.

I use the klim bibs and they're great.

I've got arcteryx gear. Just shells but with the proper layering there awesome. Super water proof and durable and lifetime warranty as well. I personally prefer shells cause there way easier to move around in. Wasn't a big fan of the fit of most the klim gear. And it's canadian made!

I went to HMK pants (and Jacket) 3 years ago, last year I had suspenders sown into them. 2 Years ago rode down from the Boulder cabin to the parking lot, and bone dry all the way. I honestly thought I was going to be drenched, I'll buy HMK if needed again.

I have Ski-Doo Helium 50 bibs. Very nice, comparable to Klim and MF but have not had to test the warranty yet. Very waterproof, breathe awesome, built in kneepads, gaiters, side vents.

Love my klim towgotte bibs.No snow down back and always warm. They fit real nice and are very comfortable sitting, standing, hanging off. After about 6 yes my butt was getting damp in spring conditions. This fall with about 3 calls to klim Canada for warranty they sent me a brand new pair.Expensive but worth every penny.

I have mostly all MF gear and and looking to switch to a different brand. Its not that they haven't kept me warm or dry but rather that about the 6th time i was out wearing this all new gear i crouched down to help a guy adjust a skid shock and they split in the crotch even though they weren't tight. So i call the amazing warranty department to get sorted for a some repair. Not only do i have to ship them all the war to Calgary but when i requested a loaner set for a planned trip less than a week away i was told they told me they needed my set first to evaluate them.

I ended up taking them to a local guy that i used to use for leather race suit repairs and he fixed them up for me no charge. Not impressed and for the price paid they just don't live up to my expectations. Might try Klim next if i can avoid the urge to rock a onesie from TOBE
